If you read one Intec GC Screen review, read this one, August 25, 2003
This review is from: Intec Black Game Screen for GameCube (Video Game)
Ok, I have spent countless days researching which is the best portable screen for the Gamecube. I have read just about every review available online and that is why I'm writing this review to sum it all up. From what I've heard, the Joytech 5.6" is the best on the market, however that is only available in European PAL format making Intec the best option for those living in the states. Now it gets more complicated. Thanks to other reviews I read about this product on Amazon.com, I found out that there are multiple versions of this product. After ordering it online and instead being shipped a Mobile Monitor (from what I hear, that monitor is not worth the money), I bought an Intec 5" model at a local Gamestop store. First of all, the box has false advertising. It said it had separate brightness/color control when it only had brightness, and one headphone plug (don't be fooled by the product image on the box!). Note: The 5" model and 5.4" are the same to my knowledge. Needless to say, I returned this 5" model (it does not use TFT technology, meaning the screen display won't look right from the side). Then I finally got the fabled 5.6" version! I had called a store and they told me they only make a 5.4" version, and if you go to Intec's website, the 5.6" is nowhere to be found! Well, like one other reviewer said, the 5.6" was definitely worth the extra hassle in getting it. It has two headphone jacks btw (one on each side). The picture quality is superb (had it been RGB instead of Composite video, it would be as good as the Joytech, but because of this, there is occasional color bleeding) and it's build is better/sturdier than it's 5.4" counterpart. I found the 5.6" at Toys 'R Us, oh and yea, do not order it online! Go to a store and buy it (make sure it says 5.6" on the box), else you'll end up getting the wrong model or worse (Mobile Monitor!)! Oh and as an interesting tidbit, it can only power the GC and itself in the car just in case if you thought you could use it with Xbox in the car without buying extra connections (unless I'm horribly mistaken).

AMAZING, April 1, 2002
This review is from: Intec Black Game Screen for GameCube (Video Game)
I was very fortunate to be able to obtain the Black Intec Monitor and am very very impressed with the product. THe screen snaps on nicely to the back of the Gamecube, allowing the handle to still be fairly usuable. The screen does not make the Gamecube back heavy what so ever. The construction (hinge, etc.) is very strudy. The screen produces a crisp colorful image that is just as easily viewable in the daylight as it is in the dark. The screen includes an A/V adaptor to connect a x-box, ps2, dvd player, etc. The screen can be disconnected from the Gamecube and then you can flib the hinge around to create a "individual stand" that will hold the screen up for use with other inputs. The sound from the two speakers is not going to knock you off your feet, but yet good enough not to take away from any game. the screen is crisp enough to read most text. In my van, the screen produces a slight buzzing sound, but in my saturn it doesnt. not sure why, but either way the screen is still amazing on the road or at home. Havent played on a full-size tv since i got the monitor. GREAT BUY!

Great Product, July 7, 2002
This review is from: Intec Black Game Screen for GameCube (Video Game)
I was getting ready to go on a trip to Hawaii and realized that I would be really bored in the car and in the plane unless I had something to do. So, I purchased the Intec, Inc. game screen in black to use on the long trip. I was amazed by the fact that the airplane (American Airlines) had plugs that allowed the gamecube to work on the plane with the car adapter cable that came with the screen! Overall the product is very versatile and can be used almost anywhere. Here is an explaination of why I rated this product with 4 stars: Clarity-4/5-The clarity of the screen is pretty good for a 5 inch monitor, but I did find that on 2 player split screen games like SSX Tricky, it was impossible to see anything. Versatility-5/5-I have found that this product can be used anywhere, and I am not kidding. If there is any type of plug available, it works! Sound-4/5-The sound is better with headphones because it tends to get "fuzzy" when turned up.(CAUTION!!!Don't put the headphones on before plugging them in and turning on the screen, because it makes this terribly loud clicking sound in your ears!) Backlight-5/5-The backlight in this product is highly superior to that of the InterAct. The screen is clearly visible in total darkness. Overall, this is a great product with very few flaws. If you travel, and need something to keep you occupied when there is nothing else to do, this is by far the product for you!
