The product was just what I was looking for - an inexpensive (this cost $6.64 including shipping), integrated, simple (plug into the USB port without the need for a cable) memory card reader that handles the latest technologies (SD, SDHC, SDXC). I tested the product to read from and write to SD and SDHC cards of various capacities (2gb, 4gb, and 32gb) and it worked well. The Integral was very well made of solid plastic and a cap which fits very snugly. However, the Integral has only a regular size SD slot (it did not have a micro slot, so need to convert the micro size card to a regular size card via an adapter, which generally comes with the purchase of a micro SD card).
When I ordered this product, I also ordered, at the same time, a Komputerbay SD, SDHC, SDXC, MMC and MicroSD, MicroSDHC, MicroSDXC Memory Card USB Reader for $5.00 (including shipping). The Komputerbay also was inexpensive, integrated, simple, handled the latest technology card readers, worked well on the read / write tests, and arrived promptly. The Komputerbay does have a slot for a micro size card, which eliminates the need for a micro to regular size adapter. However, the Komputerbay is constructed of rather cheap translucent plastic with caps on both ends (one end is for the USB connector and the other end is for the memory card slots). The plastic cracks / chips easily, and the caps do not fit snugly (are loose and pull off without effort). The product arrived with one end and cap having chipped and rough plastic edges, an indicator of not very good quality control in the plastic manufacturing process).
Both cards are relatively inexpensive and work well; the tradeoff is: higher quality plastic case (Integral) for convenience (Komputerbay accepts micro size cards without an adapter).
