Obscenely poorly written,

I'm sorry if you have to waste your money to buy this book. I want my money back! I had to read this for my MSN program; it made me so confused and frustrated that I just stopped using it and relied on Polit & Beck--much clearer. The worst were the explanations of nursing theories; many condradict themselves and the meanings are lost among the authors desperate attempts to sound scholarly; besides needing a decent editor, the authors need to review their APA manual, specifically under "economy of expression" where it very clearly says "say only what needs to be said"---a review on how to use a thesaurus wouldn't hurt either.
I had to give it a one star rating--that is still too many stars for it.

This book is written very technically. I read through the first few pages and have no clue what any of it actually meant. Our teacher said we wont even use it because it's such a bad text. I wish she would have told us that before I bought it. If I were you, I'd hold off on buying it to make sure you'll actually use it (although I dont know how anyone would). I didnt even want to give it a whole star.

If I could give this horrible piece of "literature" zero stars I would. This is undoubtedly the worst written textbook I have ever had to endure. I wish I could get the hours of my life back that I spent hacking my way through the excess language and nonsense. This was required for my MSN program. Total waste of time and money! Good for a few laughs when reading passages outloud to people and watching their confusion grow.

I am also in a MSN program, will graduate this Sunday, and found this book to be very difficult!! I felt like each word was easy, but when combined with other easy words, made it impossible to understand.

If you have your PhD, this is good book. I am in graduate school for MSN and will throw this book away after my course is finished.
Over the top vocabulary.
