Save Your Money,

Unless marketing is totally new to you, you have heard of and probably used all the concepts discussed in this very short book. Mark does try to stake out new territory by assigning new names to old concepts. But even then he discusses the concepts in very general terms. He talks about the what to do but never really gets around to specifics of how to do what he is talking about.
The book opens up by asking you to go to his website and complete five steps to see the Integration Marketing theory in practice. Step one is to provide your name and email address so you become part of his mailing list. The third step tries to sell you an advanced course on Integration Marketing. Mark is a very savvy marketer. You will learn a lot more by watching what he is doing than by reading this book. The contents of this book could be delivered in 15 - 20 pages if he cut out all the unnecessary fluff. He promises to give a formula for calculating the profit potential for any Integration Marketing deal. However what he gives is a formula that requires a lot of arbitrary estimates. Garbage In Garbage Out comes to mind. It is easy to develop business projections. But business projections are only as good as the underlying assumptions. There was no real guidelines for developing the estimates that goes into this formula. In my opinion, the entire book is designed to get the reader to seek additional, higher priced information. There is no doubt that Mark can teach a lot about marketing. If you wish to become a student of Mark, save the money on the book and apply it directly to the higher level study.

Great idea but not worthy of a book,
By The Marketing Guy Who Drives Sales -r (Charlottesville, VA United States) - See all my reviews

How does one start a critical analysis of a short marketing book that contains many paragraphs that are one sentence long and that starts out promising to show the reader how to turn their small business into a big business or their big business into an empire but by the end of the book is claiming that this marketing method will also help end war and improve the chances of global human survival? (Seriously, I could not make this up.)
If you are an experienced marketer and you are familiar with cross-marketing deals then there isn't much new for you in this very short book. The concept that is "revealed" in this work is actually a very good concept and a worthy marketing tactic to teach. It just could have been done in a one or two page white paper and been less self-serving. I've enjoyed Mark Joyner's previous works and have actually defended his style in the past. Heck, I actually admire the guy. I've given some of his previous works high ratings. I just can't do it this time. I'm afraid he's gone a bit off the rails with this effort. He's just a little too full of himself on this outing. Joyner actually compares the Integration Marketing concept to Newton's development of the theory of gravity. (Seriously, I could not make this up.) At one point he states "I can't possibly overstate the importance of this..." and then precisely 4 sentences later states, "At the risk of appearing self-indulgent...". (Seriously, I could not make this up.) He then treats the reader to spoon-fed dribbles of information with much repetition because he explains that we need to learn to walk before we can sprint. We just couldn't handle it if he got right to the point. Visit his Integration Marketing website and you will find that the book is little more than a way for Joyner to build his back-end sales and try to upsell you to other products and services. This is all thinly veiled as an example of integration marketing in action. I just felt greasy at the end of the entire experience. Excellent concept, well-developed theory but a $15 asking price for this book? I think not but I admire his chutzpah. ~~ Review by the author of the e-book, "How to Build and Manage Your Brand (in sickness and in health)."

This review is from: Integration Marketing: How Small Businesses Become Big Businesses and Big Businesses Become Empires (Hardcover)
I agree to those people who said that Integration Marketing is a simple and easy-to-read book. This book reminds me of my college textbooks, but not the terribly boring ones.
Integration Marketing is comprehensive and offers solid advice. This book deserves a place on your shelf. It's the kind of book you'll turn to regularly for reference.

I don't have plans of reading the book when it arrived, at first I was just scanning the pages and then I came across his statement that I will understand how to steadily and strategically grow my business, each and every month by the time I finished reading the book. I told myself that this is exactly what I want to know because my business is beggining to get sour and I'm getting depressed everyday. This is exactly what I need. I was intrigued and hopeful by the promise and went on reading the entire book that day. It was so simple and yet very sexy, very direct to the point, it was like I was having a face to face conversation with the author. This is a must-read!

Powerful Concepts, Real-World Applications,
This review is from: Integration Marketing: How Small Businesses Become Big Businesses and Big Businesses Become Empires (Hardcover)
Mark's books are always a quick and easy read and this one is no different. You will not be bombarded with jargon or marketing theories that only "might work". You will learn real-world, practical strategies to grow your business - in the fastest, simplest and most economical ways possible.
There are many things that sets this book apart from other marketing books I've read... one of the most powerful is the use of a "predictive math" formula Mark has developed that can show you the likelihood of a particular marketing campaign's success or failure. It's really helping me evaluate and refine my own strategies. I've also found the Integration Marketing website an invaluable resource. There are plenty of opportunities for integration with other entrepreneurs and marketers that are already familiar with the practice. Making strategic partnerships has never been so hassle-free. So if you want to learn a system that will increase your profits almost instantly - get the book now, watch Integration Marketing at work on the website, and you'll be on your way.

The title of this could be how a small book can have a giant impact on your business. Mark has always been ahead of the game with his understanding efficient marketing.
This book won't take you long to read. It doesn't cover a multitude of marketing tactics or a wide variety of strategies. So why would you read it? It will fundamentally change the way you view marketing your products. You will walk through your sales funnel in with a new perspective. Small business owners many times struggle to find customers and grow. This book teaches a simple fundamental truth on how to grow your business dramatically. Just make sure you have the processes in place to handle the growth. It will require you to step out of your comfort zone. Learn to integrate your your marketing and grow your business. Well worth the read.

This is a very good book to add to your marketing repetoire on how to be creative when it comes to your sales funnels and competitor partnering. I wish that Joyner had a few more examples of how he's integrated, but all in all definitely worth the read.

Mark Joyner is by all means a successful marketer who has written a couple of marketing classics in my opinion (Irresistible Offer and The Great Formula).
This book, Integration Marketing, falls way short of expectations. While the concept is sound, and should be implemented in most every business immediately...only the very basics are covered in this book. I felt short-changed. The rating I gave was for the book only. The "bonus" offer that went with this book was not included in my opinion...or the rating would have dropped to 2/5 stars, as the bonus offer was a re-hash of previous bonus offers instead of putting together a more relevant bonus offer to go with the book itself. The is the first time I was disappointed in anything offered by MJ. |
