State of the art for women on how to stay healthy,
By Kathi (NYC) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Integrative Women's Health (Weil Integrative Medicine Library) (Hardcover)
You could not ask for a more intelligent and caring guide to what is available in health care for women. This book looks in a thoughtful way at the state of the art in healing and keeping our mind, body and spirit healthy. Bringing Western medicine together with complementary approaches that have good evidence for being effective. Looking at the major health issues we are concerned about, this amazing group of authors present this material in a clear, straight forward way. I think it is a very useful tool in making informed decisions as we look at the explosion of treatments, information and products that are available.

A Must Text for Anyone Who's Serious about Women's Health!!,
By
This review is from: Integrative Women's Health (Weil Integrative Medicine Library) (Hardcover)
The book is a collection of cutting edge, practical articles. There are excellent overviews on philosophy and varous systemic approaches (homeopathy, energy medicine, Chinese medicine, etc), as well as ways to address specific conditions (everything from endometriosis to fibroids; infertility to perinatal depression; breast cancer to chronic pelvic pain; urinary tract infections to headache and PMS; fibromyalgia to osteoporosis....I kid you not, Maizes and Low Dog cover the territory in a true integration of allopathic and holistic methodology. The information is wise, grounded, sophisticated and pulls from the latest research. It's comprehensive but accessible (and that's how we know it was well-edited). In other words, this is a must text for the library of anyone who's serious about women's health.

PERFECT CONDITION,

This review is from: Integrative Women's Health (Weil Integrative Medicine Library) (Hardcover)
I was very pleased with this purchase. The books condition was like brand new and delivery
time was quick. The book itself is a bit too general for me, covering many topics briefly. Still worth its price as a reference.

useful resource for practitioners and informed public,
By Sue (Tucson AZ, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Integrative Women's Health (Weil Integrative Medicine Library) (Hardcover)
This well-edited collection does an excellent job of outlining and discussing the breath of topics that comprise the field of integrative women's health. The thoughtful integration of allopathic and "alternative" approaches makes this an exceptional reference/textbook, a `must have' reference for practitioners' libraries. Many chapters include excellent citation of current research evidence. Chapters about specific conditions will also provide a grounded study tool for individual patients and support groups to guide their thinking as they consider their own health care decisions. The comprehensive scope and direct accessibility of the information included in the text makes this an extremely useful resource to practitioners and 'informed public' in the consideration of both health and illness.
