So my last basic server advertised 2 nics, but only had 1 real one and one iLO management (HP). This nic was recognized immediately and was reasonable in priced and now my vmware machine can actually transfer files (1 nic on vmware is slow).

I'm currently running one under ESXi 5.1 on a Shuttle SH67H3. It's a solid card and is detected immediately without the use of third-party drivers. Any major OS is likely to have support built in for a e1000, so it's great low-cost choice for any sort of home or test lab. It has worked flawlessly for iSCSI storage since 2012. I've added another host to my lab, so I'm ordering a second one.

I bought it to use in a SUPERMICRO MBD-X9SCM-F-O Micro ATX Intel Xeon E3 Server Motherboard. The machine is set up with ESXi 5.1 and this model of NIC is recognized by the mobo and VMWare.

It's fast, you can bond it, and I have not had any issues with it whatsoever. I'm actually running a total of 4 of these NICs on the home lab server.

These dual port Intel gigabit network adapters are an excellent choice in terms of both price and function. We have nearly a dozen in heavy service providing links for our servers to connect via NFS to our SAN. They are every bit as good as the ones purchased directly from our mainline vendors, at a fraction of the cost.

I was about to order from another vendor a 2 port NIC card but that was until I found this product on Amazon.

This is an Intel 2 port NIC with has many options, I ordered 2 of them (1 as a spare) and used them for backup firewall. it is very stable and never had issue with this. Highly recommended

Even though I already had one GB nic built in to my server (Broadcom) and only one broadband connection to the Internet I now have 3 nicks running hog wild. My storage pool is now copying my ailing NAS at warp speed with all 3 guns running!

A must have. Server 2012 install was instant.

This NIC was purchased for use in an existing system to add additional network connectivity in a data center. The construction of the board and the components is quality, and it was easy to install. Multi-OS support is unparalleled when compared to Intel products.
