Bought this to upgrade an older Vostro 1500 to "N".

Took minutes to install and went with the:

White on 1

Gray on 3

Black on 2

Works like a champ.

Well worth the sub $20 spent.

Purchased this to replace a crappy wireless card in my Gateway laptop.

The card just plain didn't work for me under Linux, despite intel providing a driver for it. After about 30 seconds of usage, the connection would fail and the driver would spew errors to dmesg. Only restarting would restore the card to a working state (for another 30 seconds).

The card works fine under Windows Vista, until the laptop goes sleep. After waking up, it seems to have disappeared -- it is no longer listed under network connections or in the device manager. Again, only a reboot will resolve this issue.

On the plus side, when it was working it was pretty fast.

I didn't bother returning it since it was only 10 bucks, but next time I'll do a little better research before I buy something like this.

I purchased the Intel 4965AGN to replace my slow Dell Wireless 1505. I now get 270 to 300 Mbps instead of a max of 54 Mbps from the Dell 1505. The Cisco Linksys E3000 Wireless-N router works well with the Intel 4965AGN. The only issue I had was how to wire the Intel 4965AGN. The 4965AGN has connections for 3 wires (numbered 1, 3, and 2). The 1505 had 2 connections labeled white and black. My research on the Web had people recommending many different wiring combinations. I decided to wire the most recommended configuration, which is:

White on 1

Gray on 3

Black on 2

Be careful about installing the latest driver from Dell. You should kill the Windows new hardware found window before you install the driver.

Got it in January but had no time to instal it til now.

Instaled and conected easily but never got a IP address so had to take it off and repalce with the old 3945 abg.
