4.0 out of 5 stars A must-have addition to your Pocket Concert player, January 1, 2002

This review is from: Intel Audio Accessory Kit for the Pocket Concert (Electronics)
If you're buying an Intel Pocket Concert, save yourself some time and get the accessory kit right off the bat (or choose the package that includes it with the player). You'll want this kit...

For a start, it adds rechargeability to the Pocket Concert, sporting a pair of nickel metal hydride (NiMH) "memory free" AAA batteries. The docking station featured in this kit serves as your desktop charger... Just insert the Pocket Concert, and it'll begin refreshing your batteries.

The docking station doubles as a fancy (and more practical) USB connection to your PC for downloading your tunes into the player. And while I question the value of the feature, the docking station also has a pair of RCA connectors providing line-level output for your stereo system (or to the line inputs on your computer, presumably).

The carrying case is superb. According to the brand legend on the zipper pulls, this is a Case Logic case -- a fact that Intel doesn't bother to present. But typical of Case Logic products, it's a well made and useful way to carry around your Pocket Concert.

Finally, the standard issue cassette adapter provides you an easy way to play your Pocket Concert on the move in your car, or anywhere a standard cassette deck is available.

The reason I rate it 4 stars, not 5? Price... At late-2001 "ballpark" pricing, this kit boosts the overall price of the Pocket Concert ..., which is at the high-end for 128 Meg audio players. (By the time you read this, no doubt pricing and competitive issues will likely be different, so make your own assessment.)

But price aside, it's still an important thing for any Pocket Concert user to have.

After looking online for the best Mp3 player for me at a great price,I brought a Intel Pocket Concert Audio Player. The reason for me picking this Intel Mp3 player is because the features on it really incredible. The memory is a 128MB's!!!! Thats great! Also adding on, their are features such as Digital FM Radio,High-Output Amplifer<which many dont have>, a Scroll wheel<for choosing Track List,FM frequency, menus, and setting> Plus to add on the to greatnest of this product, it does not weight anything and can fit on our pocket. Over the Intel Mp3 Player is a great product which you can trust and depend on. Also, they have great prices for the Top Products.

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Unit but Accessory Kit is Pricey, October 9, 2001

After reviewing many of the MP3 players I selected Intel because it had the highest volume level, largest memory (128 meg) and an FM option. Downloads are easy and it never hangs up on large downloads. I wanted to purchase the accessory kit but I thought [it] was too much. I suspect that the price on the kits will come down when the newer models arrive on the market. Besides, the unit is fairly easy to hook your player to any audio amp without the docking station.

5.0 out of 5 stars Accessory Kit is Great!!!, March 28, 2002
This review is from: Intel Audio Accessory Kit for the Pocket Concert (Electronics)
The accessory kit is awesome!! I have the dock set up by my home stereo with a cord running to my computer. It is nice becasue you can send songs directly to it from your computer and then play them through your stereo. The only minor complaint is the rechargable batteries do not last as long as real batteries but I was able to go over six hours on a plane with them. I only wish it had a remote.

5.0 out of 5 stars Buy This Now!, September 22, 2001

If you have made the wise decision to purchase the Intel MP3 player, this is must have!

On the back of the base station, there is a USB connector so the device is always ready to receive new MP3s from your computer and the wire can remain hidden on your desk.

The base station works with my existing NiMH rechargable batteries (now i have 2 sets). Like what more can you ask for :o)

I don't really care about the tape to CD for the car, that would be too much of a hassle to lug it around. If you already compile your own CDs for the car, this is a perfect addition to your desk. Buy and enjoy...

5.0 out of 5 stars How awesome can this thing get?, July 15, 2001

Whoa nelly. Lemme tell ya guys, this product is by far the sweetest thing I've bought in a while. It lets you listen to hours of music without skipping or any of that [stuff]. Great sound quality, and with the accessory kit, it just boggles my mind how awesome it is. My little brother loves to listen to his music while driving in the car, as do I, and with the rechargeable batteries, it just seems like there aren't any other products in todays market that can top this one. Intel is by far the greatest electornic company. It is a little expensive, but let me tell ya, it is totally worth it. This is defiantley a great buy!
