Zero complaints about the Prescott here,
By Mark Guzowski (Idaho Falls, Idaho USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Intel BX80546PG3000E P4 3.0E Ghz 1MB Cache 800 Fsb (Personal Computers)
Lots of people complain about the prescott's heat output, but frankly it's no where near the worst processor I've had. I'm running with two standard fans - not special high output fans mind you - running the stock intel heatsink (not special heatsinks mind you), and the machine stays up with no problem. Can't say the same about amd MPs - special sinks, special fans (far more than 2), and still has problems if you don't do it right. Use the standard intel fan/sink, take comfort in the intel warranty, and stop whining.
