5.0 out of 5 stars Good Upgrade, October 10, 2006

This review is from: Intel Celeron D 351 3.2 GHz processor ( BX80547RE3200CN ) (Personal Computers)
I bought a game when it first came out, ( oblivion ), and immediately realized I was in trouble. It didn't work so well. I had already bumped up

my ram from 256 mbs to 1024 mbs. I had an integrated graphics package, Intel Xtreme 3-D, that was no longer supported. I went to an NVidia FX5500 256 DDR PCI card. The game still was almost unplayable. I decided to upgrade to a faster processor. I had a celeron D 325 ( 2.53 ghz ). The

processor I ordered was listed as a celeron D 350 running @ 3.20 ghz. Anyway, it made a noticeable difference in performance. Even the game saves are much much faster. As far as Oblivion goes it is now marginally playable. I suspect I need a different graphics package, but I do not have an AGP slot so I am limited. This is truely a good cheap performance upgrade that would be well worth the investment. I'm glad I did this as now I have a Fiber optics broadband internet connection, and I think this has helped, as this thing smokes on downloads. I don't know how the old processor would have performed, but probably not quite as well. Charlie S.
