This is a good mobo, it comes with an integrated graphic card so if you want to build a cheap and quality computer this is a very good option.
I used it for build my rig with a core quad q6600 and a gforce 8800gt and 4gb of ocz ram, and everything work perfectly. Support for 8gb of ram with 4 ddr2 slots, pci express port for graphic card if you want, pci port, and two mini pci express ports, ide, sata, firewire, dvi, 64bit computation, etc. Overall it's an excellent solution the only thing that you are not going to find on it it's over clocking capabilities which is fine for a mobo of this price. Very recommended.

This is one excellent MB! I've been an Asus fan for years, but I've grown tired of trying to get newly updated (stable) drivers from them. So I picked intel this time. Not the most over-clockable mb ever produced, but it's fast, stable and the latest win7 drivers work excellent!

Used this motherboard for an Home Cluster in a IKEA Helmer Rig running ESX. ESXi Update 02/03/04 loads and runs flawlessly. Have run multiple Guest OS's from Windows XP to 2008 Server and Rocks Cluster to regular standard Debain. Stable, Fast and Feature Rich.

I get this board and find out that it does not support HD 4850. The card is OK when I tried on another board. At the same time, my board support Gforce 9800. I don't know why...

Unlike a cheaper intel board I got, this worked out of the box. Not sure that's a consequence of the extra $20 or just luck. We'll see how well it burns in.....
Update 2/19/09: random crashes and freeze up. Restart doesn't even fire up the monitor to get bios access. This mobo is fried during benign usage and burn in period. 2nd intel mobo this winter season, I would look elsewhere. Time to engage intel customer service as the amazon return period ended 2.5 weeks ago......Amazon doesn't allow me to change the number of stars

This board is great for those who may be looking to make the transition from PATA to SATA (1 PATA & 4 SATA11) and VGA to HDMI (has both ports). or just like having that option.
Used this board with the following components with no problems Hard Drive: WD 1TB 7200rpm 16MB cache Sata11. Processor: Intel Pentium Dual-Core E5200 Processor, 2.5 GHz, 2M L2 Cache, 800MHz FSB, LGA775 Ram: 4GB (2x2) Corsair XMS2 DDR2 (4-4-4-12, 64Mx8 DRAMS) DVD Burner: LG Lightscribe SATA11 Running Windows XP Professional Installation was very simple.. Intel all-in-one installation cd did all the work for the mobo drivers. Sound drivers were also good. Have had trouble in the past with the essential series boards conflicting with the microsoft xp sound drivers (especially for high def sound).. All told this is a great motherboard.. at least until DDR3 and i7 processor prices drop :) |
