Thunderbolt! - If you work with large files and are moving them between your machine and an external drive that includes a Thunderbolt interface, this is the fastest solution available.

USB 3.0 - Now native to intel chipsets. It is backward compatible and much faster than USB 2.0.

PCIe 3.0 - This new revision doesn't matter much with current video cards, as PCIe 2.0 isn't much of a bottleneck. However, with newer video cards and PCIe SSD drives coming to market, PCIe 3.0 provides a great bandwidth boost.

Intel boards are reliable. This model offers many features that will be important for future growth.

I would buy this board again.

Tom

I've owned this board for 3 weeks now put together with an i7 3770. I have no complaints, it works well, the bios is very intuitive, the board has thunderbolt, many many usb 3.0 ports, firewire, bluetooth, wifi, front panel hi-power usb 2.0 and rear panel hi-power usb 2.0. It all works well out of the box, I have 32 gb of 1600mhz kingston ram in it, using a Samsung 830 256gb SSD OS Drive, 1TB Seagate 7200 6gbs secondary drive, which brings to the point that is has more than enough 6gbs sata ports, all you'll need.

I have a Asus 560 GTX 2gb video card in it, but have no tried the SLI yet. This board I believe does both SLI and Crossfire.

My only negative critique at all would be the wifi adapter that is included occasionally would disconnect and isn't the best, it could be where I mounted it, it could be where my computer is in relation to my router, but I feel like it is more likely just a cheap adapter included with the board and I used it for the first 4-5 days getting speeds of 150mbps, but had enough occasional drop outs I would still suggest using the gigabit ethernet, which the board has 2 of them that work absolutely perfect.

Other than that I love this board and 3 weeks fully into use would recommend it to anyone. On a more slightly unimportant, but still cool note, the mobo comes with a very very cool mouse pad extra sized that came in very handy especially recently since I've purchased a Logitech TrackPad and use that and my M510 both on it comfortably, just a cool little perk thrown in for advertisement by Intel.

Love this board. GUI BIOS is really nice, easy to make changes. The back-to-BIOS button has helped a few times. Nice to know that whatever goes wrong at the board/BIOS level can be corrected by using this feature.

Overall, I am happy with this motherboard. When I built my computer, I stuck with Intel because I wasn't as familiar with AMD. Plus, I wanted the wireless module and I thought Thunderbolt would be nice. It turns out the wireless module couldn't pick up my wireless network when iPhones, iPads, etc could easily at the same location. Even when I moved the router so that it could pick up the signal, the wireless module is ssslllooo[...] I ended up permanently moving my router and plugging directly into my computer. It's not where I wanted the router but I can live with it.

As far as Thunderbolt goes, the problem is there are hardly any devices that are Thunderbolt ready. That may change in the coming years, but I wonder if I paid a premium for something that will be much more affordable in the future. I have not been able to test Thunderbolt yet to see if it in fact reaches speeds of 10GB/s as it claims.

One thing I like about the motherboard is the bios setup. It's much easier and intuitive than the old bios setups. I did find that only certain USB ports work in the bios screen, so I had to change where I had the mouse and keyboard connected. I did not see this in the documentation for the motherboard. I'm not sure how the bios interface is for other motherboards. It is possible they have all gotten much better, but I was impressed with this one.

If you are building a computer, I would say for now put Thunderbolt on hold and go with something cheaper. It's not like USB 3 is slow anyway. I have heard some people say customer service is better with Intel, so if you think you may need help this might factor into your decision. Ultimately, you won't go wrong with this motherboard. It's just a matter of value.

This motherboard is fast, easy to install, great instructions, and packed with features like Bluetooth, Thunderbolt and Wireless Card.
I had the system installed in an hour or less, not a single quirk.

Since I've been a Intel user forever, I might be biased towards Intel but this is a good board for 2 way SLI and a Ivy Bridge processor, the board is sturdy with a great setup manu which is simple and can be controlled by mouse.
Also it has temperature monitor on board.

Overall this is a good product

Reliable, Been up and running since build. I tried other brands but no luck running 24/7. Overclock is very easy. Using a 3770K processor, with 2 Ceton M Card tunners for 1000 HD TV Channels. This MOBO is very stead fast and it is the 2nd one I own. You get what you pay for and this is worth ever dollar. Love tweaking graphics and stepping up speed with very little heat.
