5.0 out of 5 stars FAST FAST FAST! Overclockable and stable.
Wow! This chip completely obliterates my Dual Core Intel D930. I have the E6600 in an MSI P6N SLI Platinum Motherboard, powered by a 500 watt Antec power supply, and cooled by a Cooler Master RR-LCH-P9E1 92mm UFO CPU Cooler. At factory settings it runs VERY cool (between 25-32C). This chip could be an excellent choice for underclocking in a fanless HTPC...

1.0 out of 5 stars STAY AWAY!!!!!
The product arrived in a damaged box. I tried the processor in two computers and the same problem occurred in both. Wasted most of a week giving the seller the benefit of doubt, wrong decision. Apparently someone else returned the product and it was resold based on the looks of the packaging. Overall a bad decision to purchase from the seller and Amazon. Bought local...

5.0 out of 5 stars FAST FAST FAST! Overclockable and stable., June 2, 2007

I am deeply impressed with how fast this chip is at its factory settings. With the right mobo and cooling, you can overclock this thing up to 3.5 - 4GHz!

This is my second Intel build, and i have to say that it is impressively easy, stable and customizable.

Great CPU... fast, stable, dual-core, overclockable. I overclock mine to 3.15 GHz with standard voltages! Intel is back with Core 2 Duo. Sorry AMD, but I hope you stick around because competition is GOOD!

5.0 out of 5 stars Only One Thing You Need To Know: ITS FAST!, September 25, 2007
This review is from: Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 Dual-Core Processor, 2.4 GHz, 4M L2 Cache, LGA775 (Personal Computers)
Theres only one thing you need to know about the new 2.4ghz Core 2 Duo Intel Processor: ITS FAST. From the seccond you take this out of the box its an impressive processor. The processor itself is small and fits in any 775 motherboard processor slot. The heatsink is pretty impressive looking and looks like it would be able to cool a nuclear reactor. I used this processor with a Gigabyte motherboard in a recent computer build and it worked flawlessly. The motherboard instatly recognized the processor and I was good to go. Once you get into windows you will notice a significant speed increase over non Core 2 systems. For the relatively low price of such a fast processor I highly recommend this.

5 out of 5 stars.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fair performance for gaming, July 30, 2007

This review is from: Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 Dual-Core Processor, 2.4 GHz, 4M L2 Cache, LGA775 (Personal Computers)
I have this new conroe proc instead of my regular AMD processor. It was hard the change from AMD to intel since I am a gamer. However going thru a lot of review I decided to change. Now I am happy with the change and this proc rules. It has good performance and low power consumption. If you are not sure on changing from AMD to intel I can tell you that you do not have to worry about it. This is not the extreme edition but along with me Nvidia 7900 GTX it runs smooth all games. You can try it.

5.0 out of 5 stars great processor for the money, February 2, 2007

I am used to processors with this kind of power being sooo much more money than Intell released this for. I am completely satisfied with the horsepower of this proc. I upgraded from an old P4 3.2 GHZ Prescott and the difference was amazing. I did not buy the extreme proc as didn't want to pay the additional cost. I don't think I am missing anything.

5.0 out of 5 stars it's a BEAST, November 26, 2007
This review is from: Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 Dual-Core Processor, 2.4 GHz, 4M L2 Cache, LGA775 (Personal Computers)
Wow, that's about how to describe this chip.

Do you really need it? If you aren't doing the newest games and massively intensive resource sucking programs there is no need.

I run anywere from 10-15 programs at once, including a couple MMORPGs, photoshop CS2, many browser windows, all IM programs, A key tracker for short cuts, MS Word, and several other programs all at the same time and this chip isn't even fased. I still end up with 30% not even being used.

This chip puts out heat like it's cool though, so keep that in mind. I put massive heatsink on this thing just to make sure it stays cool enough.

Unless you are running a program that can bog down the lower dual cores or even a single core 3ghtz chip then you really wont need this much processor. save your money and get a lesser chip, I find it extremely hard to even come close to using this chips full potential.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best performance/price CPU..., July 21, 2007
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 Dual-Core Processor, 2.4 GHz, 4M L2 Cache, LGA775 (Personal Computers)
This is the perfect cpu from de core 2 duo line. It can do all the tasks i want without breaking a sweat, dual core is the sweet spot right now. Can handles any graphics processor at any resolution. I game a lot and i'm sure this cpu will last me for a long time. Also the temperature is very low ( from living in a hot country).

Take into account that if you are looking for a fine gaming cpu that can handle future games like Crysis, UT 3, Bioshock and COD4, this is the right one for the best price; as Cevat Yerli from Crytek said: " The E6600 can handle Crysis in Ultra High graphics"... , do i need to say anything else???

I received a week 28B chip when I ordered last Nov. It's running 100% stable at 3.6GHz (50% overclock) with a Tuniq tower 120 and an Abit AW9D-Max. Great bang for your buck.
