This was my first ever refurbished buy of anything, so, naturally, I was a bit apprehensive about the functionality and condition of the component, however I am pleased with my purchase.
The estimated date of delivery was Aug 31st - Sept 18th. It came on the 31st. The processor came packaged inside of anti-static wrap in a stiff, thin cardboard envelope that was folded in half and taped on the sides and on the top.
The processor itself appeared to be clean and in pristine condition.
I opened up my desktop case, removed the heat sink, removed the thermal compound from the bottom of the heat sink, popped open the processor tray, pulled out the old processor [820], put in the 945, closed the tray, put some Arctic Silver on top of the 945, put the heat sink back in the case, and closed it up.
Then, came the moment of truth. I turned on the computer and, voilà, it didn't explode.
There's a night-and-day difference in speed. The computer boots faster and programs open, run, and close quicker. I've observed no difference in operating temperatures.
I'll definitely do business with this seller [CravingSavings] in the future.
Very, very pleased.

This processor is a dependable product with some set up issues because of the fsb speed limited only at 800 mhz. If you are not using a stock motherboard, you are limited to no more than 1066 mhz memory or less. Then you can manipulate the processor fsb speed down to 2.8 ghz. Some motherboards will do this automatically and some won't.

Processors can be many years old and still run just fine. This was a major improvement to my seven-year old computer. Essentially the only thing still seven-years old is the motherboard and overall frame. Components have all been replaced, and it was time I had a processor that could keep up with the upgrades.

Ordered an Intel Pentium D 945 CPU a few days ago. It arrived about 4 days early and was very professionally packaged in a USPS Priority box. The CPU was inside a factory package, then that was inside a bubble wrap package, and that was inside another padded envelope and it all was inside a Priority Mail cardboard box. Great job!
DIGICONCEPTS THANK YOU so much for doing thinks right....the way it should be.
BTW, Did I mention this little thing called a lifetime warranty! Oh yea! With this CPU I get a lifetime WARRANTY!!! AWESOME! And the extras like heatsink paste, a large a alcohol cleaning pad and a grounding bracelet that you should always have anyway for PC work. They thought of everything.
My Dell E510 is now blazing fast...at least for an 8 yr old PC. It was so much cheaper to buy 4 gigs of ram and update the CPU from 2.8GHz to 3.4GHz. All you need to do priory to installing the CPU is update your BIOS. It's easy. Go to Dell to do this for a Dell.
Thanks again Digi!!!
