Anyone who's purchased a low end dell computer knows the systems are great, dependable, and so basic that sometimes your question why you ever desided not to spend the extra money to get the next model up!! Well the simple fix is this chip!

For any intel system using a socket 775 mainboard, and running a core2 centrino, or core2 pemtuim processor, this is as simple an upgrade as anyone could ask for. The job takes less than 10 min, and unlike old school systems there are no jumper setting, or bios changes to make. Just remove the heatsink/fan on your curret setup, lift the locking arm, swap the cpu chips and put things back together. This chip does come with a new heatsink/fan cooler but dependng on the system (like my Dell 530) your better off using the screw mounted oridginal. Just remember to get some new thermal transfer paste and cleaner.

I bought this processor in place of my old dual core processor. Games like GTA4 run a lot smoother now, great deal. Do recommend.

This worked just fine, giving me a 7.2 windows experience index. I did notice that it did get a little warm with the stock cooler, but it also has a higher tolerance for heat. When reading individual cores, they were about 46c idle, with max load getting it up to 70's. Make sure that the cooler "fingers" are fully inserted(they should pop or click in place), or your temps will be very high.

I bought this CPU as an add on for a motherboard I had ordered. When the motherboard didn't arrive due to being out of stock, I decided to use the CPU to upgrade my existing computer. Since the upgrade, my computer has been working famously.

This was an inexpensive upgrade for an older system running my media center. Saved me from building a new system.

I was considering buying an Intel Core i3 desktop, but decided to upgrade an older Dell Dimension 755 instead. Used versions of these processors can be found for under a hundred bucks--making such an upgrade well worth the price in my opinion.
