The rear cover which fits into the case was the flimsiest metal I have ever seen and would not snap cleanly into either the board or the case.

This is my HTPC and so far it's really working nicely.

[edit] just stick with pc1333 ram and you'll have no issues, things get hairy with pc1600[edit]

This is a great motherboard when configured correctly.
Remember that the processor you purchase needs to support intel Graphics, otherwise you'll have to buy a separate pcie video card.

here's the link to the intel site for a list of processors that support integrated graphics, NOTE THAT THERE ARE NO i7 PROCESSORS IN THIS LIST:
<edit> since links are disabled try googling: "Which Intel® desktop processors contain integrated graphics" <edit>

the board comes with the voltage for ram set at 1.5V which usually needs to be increased to 1.6 or 1.65, (it's under the performace tab; change the memory profile)

I purchased an 8gb (4x2) from KomputerBay to work with this and found that I had to lower the "multiplier" to 8 to get it to POST.

The integrated DVI slot does not have a '+' style connector so you cannot use an adapter and have dual VGA ports, but you CAN have a DVI and VGA running at the same time without buying a video card.

Got it for an HDTV application with an HDMI Intel motherboard. I was slightly sceptical due to some surprisingly downbeat reviews of the current wave of Intel motherboards. However, I have been using Intel motherboards for about ten years and they seembulletproof. I have some that were so caked in dirt and dust I was surprised they still worked. Took a chance and built the HTPC - works brilliantly. No hesitation on anything I have done with it 1080P, which, so far, is everything except playing with Blu-Ray.

Addendum for the motherboard: you know what sets Intel apart? They include a lot of nice extras, like a sticker for your case that labels the headers on the motehrboard. No more referencing hard-to-find manuals. Also, they know how to adhere to a standard without screwing around with incompatible parts that end up frying or not playing well with one another. You want to overclock? Maybe you want another manu. You want bulletproof longevity? Buy this.

This is a sweet board and it does everything I need it to do. I only installed the drivers for the chipset and NIC off of the cd then downloaded all the most current drivers from intel's site including the new chipset and nic driver. I also then flashed the BIOS to the most recent version. The board works great with no problems. I have an intel core i5 661 processor in here with some patroit sector 5 ram in there.

DH55HC ordered from Amazon, arrived in 4 days, excellent condition. This is the first computer I ever put together so it was an experience. Using it now, no problems at all , not enough experience to tell good or bad, only complaint new computers stink as they 'burn in'. Had Dell B110, Intel Celeron D, ProcessExplorer stayed at 90% plus.
Board & cpu ( i3_530)constant around 40- 55 Cel. ProcessExplr RARELY breaks 25%, Blender 3D , Corel Paint , VLC , 4+ tabs on Firefox , OMG !!! Wha' happened to the wait ..... = ]. Bought a NVidia GeForce 9600 awhile back, working beautifully in here ( AND ALL with ONLY a 2gig stick of memory !, hope to rec. other 2 sticks Mon. total for 6g , exspect even better performance hopefully ... win 7 x86 limited to 4g though ) Seems pretty nice so far.
For all the other reviewers ( I did a lot of reading ... Thanks ! ) Don't WAIT till 'all else fails'... READ the instructions FIRST. Intel did a good job providing updates & user guides ...

I had to rebuild my computer because my previous build had a psu that failed. So Instead of just getting a new psu. I decided it was time to upgrade.

I do not overclock so.

put the computer together. and everything boots up with no hiccups.

I've used about every motherboard brand there is and switched to Intel 6 years ago. Now I would not use anything else. On top of that you get a three year factory warranty.

Also Amazon's shipping and handling was excellent.

The install of this board was smooth and easy. Its been some ten years since I put together a desktop and this was really a pleasure once I researched what was needed: Windows 7 64bit, Intel i3 550, 8gig corsair memory, 1 TB caviar black, 1 locally dragged home Antec 300, Silverstone low profile CPU fan, coolmaster 500 Watt PS, lightON DVD. This is my HTPC and so far it's really working nicely. The minor annoyances have been the USPS delivery of parts which come a week after everything else(Thermal paste, doh!). Now I'm waiting for some extra fans and another 1TB caviar black. If the packing is ratty I'll just send it back sight unseen.
