I put one of these in my Dell Mini 9 to replace the Dell Broadcom wifi card. I got tired of searching for Linux drivers all the time. Ubuntu 10.04 recognizes this card automatically. No more driver headaches/ This card also supports 802.11 a, b, g and n. My old card only supported 802.11 b and g. My only complaint is that this card gets hotter than my old card. I took away one star for that. It probably uses more power and shortens battery life some. It was a worthwhile upgrade for the Dell Mini 9.

Update: Ordered a second one of these for my Dell D420 laptop. The Dell Broadcom wifi cards just don't cut it. These are easy enough to install yourself. Just make sure your existing wifi adapter card is 50mm Mini PCIe and not the smaller newer 30mm Mini PCIe card and this should work. Works fine in a Dell laptop anyway. Not sure about other laptop brands. I ordered this card used for about $12 including shipping. Works great!

Replaced my Atheros based unit in my netbook with this and added a bar in signal strength.Good upgrade. Seems to run a little hot, though.

In 2009, we purchased a Dell Mini 9 refurb for my 2 sons, who had become increasingly interested in what Mom and Dad did on the computer all the time. Great investment - don't regret it. However, after an update, the wireless card mysteriously stopped working with any consistency. After much debate and many articles on Linux drivers, I came across some recommendations of this wireless card as a replacement. SHAZAM! The Dell Mini 9 now works like a charm. Definitely worth the investment.

The Broadcom mini card that came with my laptop (Dell Vostro 1500) went out. This card costs less, supports a wider range of networks, and works on Linux without installing proprietary drivers. It's been working great over the month that I've been using it. My only complaints: The WiFi light on my laptop now blinks all the time, and Windows XP now keeps trying to connect even with the WiFi switch off (and fails in that case). (The card can be truly turned off from the control panel.)

Bought this item to upgrade and older Dell Vostro 1000 laptop and works like a charm. The instructions included with the package state that this card is only compatible with INTEL chip sets, but that is not the case. It works well with my AMD chip.
Set up was fairly straight forward, just had to follow the manufacturer's instructions. Load times are very fast. My computer went from the slow lane to the HOV lane; Definately worth the money. No complaints.

I ordered this to replace the old card in my dell D620. I went from 54 Mps to 160 Mps, after install. The card came complete with the drivers. Install was easy and straight forward on my old Dell. I would advise prospective buyers to do their own research to insure this card is compatible with their system(i.e- @ intel's web site). This is a great bargain upgrade for the price.

Ordered this card to replace a failing Sony Vaio VGN-TXN15P wireless card. Wasn't sure if it would work, but the picture looked pretty close to the existing card, so I took a chance.

Installed the driver (turns out my 5 year old Vaio already had a previous version of the Intel drivers installed in it) then installed the card, and it just worked! Very easy installation, and now I get "very good" reception where with the stock card (when it worked) I barely got any bars. Don't know why I waited so long to order this, it's like I've got a new laptop!

Very happy with this so far (just installed it) and very happy that it fit right in to my Vaio with no hassles.

I bought this Jan 2014 and installed it into a Dell E1505. I picked this because I am using Linux Mint and the broadcom card would not work. Also, this needs only two antenna connections so this connected right to the E1505. Works with no problems with Linux Mint 13 and 17. Picks up wireless networks very well and connects easily and stays connected. A plus is that this card is "N" rated so it upgraded the E1505 in the world of wireless.
