Volume 1 contains the English version of the 40-minute Chechen Rebel video "Russian Hell 2". The video contains operational footage of vehicular-borne improvised explosive device attacks in Argun and Gudermes, as well as ambushes on a Russian paratrooper convoy and a Russian military aid convoy. Footage of the placement and detonation of roadside explosive devices and a battle in Vedeno are also included. Commander Khattab and Shamil Basayev also appear. All of the English text and subtitles appearing on the video are believed to be produced by the Chechen Rebels or one of their front organizations. The original Arabic version of the video is believed to have been released sometime in late 2000 or 2001. The "Know Thy Enemy" series is specifically designed to give professionals across the academic to private security to government spectrum access to the highest possible quality of unedited versions of terrorist videos in a format useable by analysts to help achieve better clarity on the activities of such groups and consequently improve efforts to prevent attacks.
