An excellent book, December 17, 1998
This review is from: The Intellectuals Speak Out About God: A Handbook for the Christian Student in a Secular Society (Hardcover)
I read this book some years ago and wish that it had not gone out of print. In essence, it is a series of interviews with great thinkers, both traditional theists and scientists and philosophers whose work and thought have led them to consider a traditional God as a reality.
The thesis of the project, and it was borne out by the interviews, is that the leading, cutting edge thinkers in any field are far more likely to consider God seriously than the rank and file who are often still mired in the muck of warmed-over logical positivism and misplaced hyper-rationalism.
This book can have a profound effect on your faith and your life.
This was excellent project and needs to be revisited.

Has the power to dissolve metaphysical homeostasis & ennui., February 21, 1998
This review is from: The Intellectuals Speak Out About God: A Handbook for the Christian Student in a Secular Society (Hardcover)
I was stunned to read the thoughts of truly brilliant minds about life, death, and the infinite beyond earth. This collection of penetrating interviews had a fundamental effect on my belief system. IMHO, this is one of the most important books ever published. I cannot, however, think of any that really compare to it... a strong statement, I realize. This book does not proselytize at all, even though the title suggests otherwise... If fact, the title choice is very unfortunate. If this book had been titled differently, it would probably have been a best seller... All the current "angels" nonsense notwithstanding! READ IT IF YOU CAN GET IT!
