Poor results,

I took the test at 20 weeks and it said that I was having a girl. I followed all the directions carefully--I even made sure I put it on a white surface to sit for the amount of time allotted. I finally got in to get a second trimester sonogram done, and my baby is going to be a boy. I mentioned this to the technician, and she said that around 12 of her patients have used the test and only one had a matching result. One couple bought 3 tests and did them on separate days, their results were 2 boy 1 girl, went in for the ultrasound and their baby was a girl. I don't think the test is very accurate, flipping a coin could tell you better looking at those numbers/percents!!
It was fun, but don't get your hopes up!

Chances of accuracy... 50/50!,
This review is from: IntelliGender Gender Prediction Test Kit (Health and Beauty)
I took the test and followed the directions EXACTLY. I was 13 weeks and the test clearly said "BOY" to 8 different adults. Two ultrasounds later with different techs, this baby is a "GIRL". So it was totally wrong.
My friend is a month behind me. She took the test at 14 weeks, once again it said "BOY" and at her 20 week ultrasound the tech says its a "GIRL". WRONG TWICE! This test is just a 50/50 guess that anyone could make. If you are willing to pay $30 for this test... you might as well pay $50 instead to go to your local 3D ultrasound place and see the sex for yourself with almost guaranteed accuracy!

READ THE REVIEWS -- ALMOST ALWAYS SAYS BOY!
I took this test when I was 11 weeks pregnant and the results were greenish, which I figured meant boy cause girl should be NO color change. Took it again at 14 weeks, again, greenish. Fast forward and ultrasound said girl...and four months later, GIRL! I wish I'd read the reviews on this and other sites first...glad I didn't rely on it! There are even some reviews out there that say EVEN NON-PREGNANT WOMEN GET BOY RESULTS! Total waste of money -- and check out the good reviews -- practically ALL of them got BOY and had a boy. Even a broken clock is right twice a day...

Flipping a coin has a 50/50 chance. So, this test is bound to make at least 50% correct predictions. In my case, it failed. We followed the instructions religiously and the answer was clearly a GIRL. Well, it's a boy.

Accurate For Us,

I have to admit, that when I first heard about IntelliGender's Baby Gender Prediction Test I was entirely blown away (and very excited, just ask my extended family!)
As many of you know, I'm pregnant with baby #4, and we have three beautiful girl-children already. So when I heard about a urine-based test that you could perform at home, and that promised accuracy results of around 90% I was terribly excited! We normally avoid ultrasounds unless medically indicated (we don't go in for routine procedures at a certain date), so often we don't have our babies gender-checked. What was even better, is that I was selected to review a test - score! Recommended for moms who are at least 10 weeks pregnant, I was around 11 when I took my test. It said, "girl" - we weren't entirely surprised ;). Now, the test comes with a lot more parts than a pregnancy test does, but it was really easy to do! It has a 10-minute wait time, get down at eye level to the test and read the results against a white colored background without disturbing the container, and voila! The test was very fun, and super-exciting. It has also saved us a LOT of money - I was about to go gonzo buying boy clothes before I heard about this test . Now, even IntelliGender says not to make permanent choices or heavy emotional investments based on the results of the test (ANY test, even ultrasounds can be wrong, you never know till baby is in your arms!) but DH and I had a lot of fun with this test. Also, IntelliGender has GREAT customer service, they are super-responsive and eager to help if you aren't sure about your test results - just take a picture and send it off and they'll help to interpret it for you! FINAL RESULT - Our baby was born and we have another beautiful girl for #4! So, the test was accurate for us!

The same as a magic 8 ball,

I used this around my tenth week. I followed it to a T and it read I was having a girl. I already have two boys, so this made me happy. When I read other reviews I thought of doing something else. So I used Pink or Blue test and it read boy. So I one or the other was wrong. I just had my ultrasound and it's a boy. This product sucks, a magic 8 ball could do the same job. It's diffentally a watse of money which could cost you a total of 40 or 60 dollars. If it don't give a very good answer it should cost a lot less. (Oh I read the test right by looking at it eye level and it match the one for a girl on there site.)

I love the idea of this product! However, I do think that the results are a little tough to interpret. I ended up buying 2 because although the first one turned "greenish", I wasn't convinced that it wasn't a dark orange. The 2nd test was equally confusing, but did seem more green than orange. We had the ultrasound last week and it is infact a boy. The test was correct. I think the test is worth doing, but follow the directions. Do during daylight hours and have a piece of white paper handy. Also, read the results within the 10 minute window, then throw it out. I think the green started to turn back to orange/yellow, which is why I was unsure. Hope this helps. Congrats on your pregnancy!

I know there is a 50-50 chance involved here, but this product told me at 10 weeks that I was having a boy. Later at 20 weeks, I went in for my ultrasound and it was confirmed with the doctor that in fact I was having a little boy. I think as long as you follow the directions to the T, the test will probably be pretty accruate with others as well too. Additionally, it wasn't confusing to decipher the color (aka gender) given. It was pretty cut and dry what my results were. I will for sure use this for my next pregnancy!

Worked for me.,

I bought this item from Walgreens and did exactly as the directions said. The directions are very specific so I didn't want to mess this up. I'm a skeptic anyway but this was more for fun, I wouldn't paint my nursery based on the results if you know what I mean.
After having three girls my husband and I naturally were hoping for a boy. So when I took this test, with every precaution as to not alter my results, it turned green! Which meant BOY! I must say it was very hard not to get excited but I was. I went in for both of my sonograms and this baby is most definitely a boy. So this did work for me, HOWEVER I know of a few friends that have tried it and it gave them a girl reading and they indeed had boys. Anyhow, its fun but don't bank your hopes and dreams on it! |
