Very informative but intellectually flawed,

The book, "Giftedness and Intelligence...", is an extremely informative book on the environmental relationships involved in developing childrens intelligence, particularly gifted children. The book's primary flaw is in the degree the author attributes the influence of heredity and environment to children's intellectual development. Although Storfer acknowledges that heredity is the primary determiner of IQ, he does not consistently denote the influences of heredity and environment on intelligence. Often, obvious and plausible hereditarian determinants of developing intelligence are presumed to be environmental. I frequently caught myself correcting presumptions of causation. Overall, I found the book fascinationg and detailed; I would recommend it to anyone interested in understanding intelligence or concerned with the development of children.
