Book Description

July 1, 1998
This methodical presentation of intelligent software agents is based on a series of case studies. The authors first present the foundations, then give a thorough description of the influences of artificial intelligence, networks, and communication systems. The relevant development methods and tools are described next, followed by the application areas for intelligent software agents. Numerous examples are used to offer the reader extended descriptions of individual software agents, especially the agents BargainFinder and Kasbah. The treatment balances equally the basic foundations and the practical implementation of intelligent software agents. Thus the book is equally suited for both application and development work.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good basic knowledge about intelligent agents, April 18, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Intelligent Software Agents: Foundations and Applications (Hardcover)
Very good basic knowledge about intelligent agents and what they are and how they are used. Not too heavy to read because there was a lot of helpful pictures that model different kinds of software agent systems. I found this book very helpful when designing my own software using intelligent agents. This book did not give advices how to write a code to implement agents. It just helps to design intelligent agents system.
