I have used a number of these jacks, properly installed with the correct tools and good wiring, and discovered a serious defect:

It is possible (in fact easy), to have a cable clicked into one of these jacks, but not making contact on all pins. I have verified this using a trendnet tester and a number of cables from different manufacturers. If you push the cable in all the way, it is fine. But if you then wiggle or gently pull back on it a bit, it will break the connection even though, mechanically, it is still locked. This means that any stray vibration or cable movement can break your connections. I have tried this with other jacks and not reproduced it.

Also, I have two of these Jacks with stuck pins: the contact pins are stuck down and won't come back up on their own. This is not due to abuse. It looks like the pins are just too long for the housing and get stuck against the back.

I have wasted hours narrowing down my network issues to these jacks. Not recommended.

I ordered 12 of these, and have installed 9 thus far without incident. The are well built, and work as expected. Not much more you could ask for.

Worked great. No problems. Easy to install. Didn't improve my sex life or make me magically skinny but it does what it is supposed to do.
