Everything came as advertised. The crimper was basic in that it did not have a ratcheting closing/release mechanism to ensure proper final closing, however, it did not seem to make any difference and worked for the cables that I made. You can, of course, buy a Palladin for $75 that essentially does the same thing. Good buy for the homeowner making up a small quantity of custom network cable lengths.

This is a decent crimper. Only thing missing is a latch. Be careful of the wire cutter blades, they're very sharp. If you work full time crimping cables often, then I would invest in a better crimper; otherwise, this one is fine for most people. I really wish the crimper would properly strip off the plastic shielding of cat5/6 cables without damaging the wires underneath. Having the cable tester is a big plus; it's great for times when you get link light but no connectivity; you can use the cable tester to check. Considering the price, I would say the quality of both tools is decent.

The product did not work. It failed to properly crimp the Cat5 cable which cause the wire to not function. The tester seemed like a nice product. It would have been a great purchase if the crimper functioned properly. I returned it using Amazon's return feature and got a full refund.

i tried it on one cable and one of the connector pins wasn't getting pushed in. After adjusting and re-adjusting i got it to work. For the price, its good enough to create custom length Ethernet cables.

The first one I got didn't work, they sent me another one free of charge and it works flawlessly. I am very pleased with this buy, these should work great for the occasional patch cable or cross over cable.

If you plan to add this tool for everyday use I highly recommend going with a better quality product. This is good for them people at home making a simple network. Not a bad buy for both a remote tester and crimp tool. I recommend buying from CablesOnline for fast shipping.

Great products. These are the items you need for installing network cables. You get a transmiter and a receiver to test the cables and you get the crimping tool you need to install the RJ-45 connectors. I am very pleased with this purchase. It's a great product combination.
