We have used several different timers for brushing teeth. Finally someone came up with a timer that will work without the help of an adult. My kids ages 6 and 7, LOVE this product. It is so easy for them to use. It mounts with suction cups right onto the mirror. We have had it for 3 months and have had no problems. My kids teeth are much cleaner after brushing-hopefully no cavities at the next visit to the dentist!

I was so excited when I found this item in the store! I thought this would be the perfect way to get my kids excited about brushing and help them brush long enough to get the job done correctly! (BONUS: It helped them wash there hands long enough to actually get some dirt off!) It was wonderful for our kids.

However, I bought two, one for each bathroom. One of them did not work from the start. I was going to take it back to the store when I went back. This week (we've owned it about 3 weeks now) the second one that was working stopped working! I'm so frustrated! They had a GREAT idea! They just couldn't put the right parts in it to function well. I wish they had put more effort into doing the job right, because it was a great help to my family when it worked!

Pros:
- NO BEEPING!! It won't wake up other people if someone is in the bathroom using the timer.

- It's an electronic thing which gets my kids TOTALLY involved and excited.

CONS:

- It wasn't built to last! Cheepest construction inside. My guess is the problem is loose wires inside. I don't understand why they can't put more effort into putting the right parts inside correctly!


Summary:
Please make a decent product before sending it out!!! I hope someone can make one that works with all the same easy and fun for kids to use features!

Packaging & concept are great but after 2 days tooth button did not function properly and reset button got stuck. I really wanted this to work as looks like best way to make sure kids brush or wash long enough. Maybe they will improve future versions. At least it was inexpensive. Not worth the $ to send back for a replacement that quite likely will fail.

This is a great product!! My daughter is able to brush her teeth on her own for the full two minutes like she should and I don't have to keep looking over her shoulder. I found that the suction cup doesn't stick real well to anything in our bathroom so I took a piece of double sided tape and stuck it to the wall. This prevents my daughter from dropping it as well.

I think that my family has been very very lucky with this toothbrush timer. It has gotten soaking wet on about four occasions, each time it seemed to not work anymore. We took the batteries out and let it dry out for a day and then it worked again!! I have found that it is extremely sensitive to water, if it gets even the slightest bit wet it doesn't want to work properly. You have to take the batteries out and let it dry to make it work again.

I really need to buy a back up for when it finally does die, but its so inexpensive and useful I would buy another one.

This product was great in encouraging my family and me to brush and wash longer.
But sadly it broke after about a month of use. Great idea-just needs to be worked on some more.

This is great for our kids. The buttons are self-explanatory, and it's easy enough for my then four year old to use. We thought we ruined it early on when it was submerged in water. We took the batteries out and let everything air dry. It's as good as new now. I'm sure eventually the one we have will bite the dust, and I'll happily replace it with another one.

Was looking for something to give the kids some guideline on how long they should wash their hand and brush their teeth. It's simple to use; the kids will push the "hand" button and the unit will light up green and flash. As the timer counts down, the light will flash faster and faster and will turn off. Same for brushing the teeth. They would push the "tooth" and they begin brushing. Again, the light will flash faster when it's almost done. The unit will flash red about the last ten seconds or so and will stop blinking. Unit uses three AAA batteries, come with a plastic cradle, suction cup to mount to the bathroom mirror, and even a screw if you want to screw the cradle to the wall. I opted for the suction mount.

This timer has been great for my kids, especially for my 8-year old with ADHD. But after a few months, it did break as others have commented. I was able to open it up and stick a wire back in place. Happened a second time, and then a third time almost a year after we'd purchased it. Wasn't able to fix it the third time, so I emailed the company to tell them what a great timer it was except for the faulty construction. A wonderful customer service rep emailed me back immediately and said it had a 2-year warranty and she'd send me two new ones. No proof of when I bought it needed, no need to return the broken one. When the timers never showed up via USPS, she sent out 2 more via FedEx. I couldn't be happier with the service!

It used to take a lot of explanations and reminders to get my son (4) to brush his teeth and wash his hands. Now, he looks forward to doing these things, because he enjoys "competing" with the timer to see if he can outlast the lights. He is even encouraging his little brother (1) to participate in the competition. This is the second time I have bought this timer, as the first timer got immersed in water by my oldest son and got ruined. This is the only reason why I didn't give the item the full 5-star rating. If the company could improve upon the timer by making it water-proof, then this item would be perfect! I am considering purchasing another one for our master bathroom...to get my husband to brush and wash better!!!!

We just set this up, I taped the front and back together to limit the possibilities of breaking it. If it lasts more than a few weeks; this will be the best thing I've purchased in a long time. I've been looking for a way to get my children to clean their hands and teeth properly!
