5.0 out of 5 stars very simple and useful tuner

I have used this tuner for several years and have much appreciated its simplicity. With previous electric tuners, I found it very difficult to tune in a crowded or noisy environment. The microphone would pick up other noises and would be confused.

1.0 out of 5 stars Tuner work ok but capo does not
I was very disappointed with this tuner/capo. The tuner worked fine, although not as sensitive as my older intellitouch PT-2 tuner i've had for years. The biggest problem for me is that the capo function of this thing does not have enough clamping force to camp down on the strings firm enough! this is especially true for low E string. i'm going to return this thing and...

5.0 out of 5 stars very simple and useful tuner, December 3, 2005
This review is from: Intellitouch CT1 Capo Tuner (Electronics)

I have used this tuner for several years and have much appreciated its simplicity. With previous electric tuners, I found it very difficult to tune in a crowded or noisy environment. The microphone would pick up other noises and would be confused.

This tuner, though, clips onto the guitar (or fiddle or mandolin or whatever) and picks up vibrations through the wood. Thus, surrounding noises don't interfere with tuning.

Other nice features of the tuner are that it is quite compact, the battery seems to last a long time (I haven't changed it in two years of use), and the little clip swivels so you can see the LCD display from various angles.

On the whole, I have been quite happy with this little tuner.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice little tuner, January 24, 2006
This review is from: Intellitouch CT1 Capo Tuner (Electronics)
Very unique. I like how it picks up on vibrations. My biggest complaint is that the arrow system used is rather confusing at first and it is difficult to tell how accurate it actually is. Other than that, it picks up the vibrations very well, the backlight is great, and it is super easy to use once you realize how the arrows work. A tad pricey though.

I am not much of a musician. I bought this to tune my kid's guitar between lessons. It works. It is very easy to use, and the teacher said I did a great job tuning the guitar.

5.0 out of 5 stars wE ALL LOVE IT IN OUR CHOIR, April 19, 2005
This review is from: Intellitouch CT1 Capo Tuner (Electronics)
I`ve never been very good to put in tone my guitar. I had an electronic tuner but the problem was that everything had to be in silence so I could tune it. With the inteltouch we have no more problems, because in the midle of the presentation one can tune the guitarr because it is with vibration. We just love it. Yes, it is expensive, but for people like me it`s just the perfect buy.

Dear Capo-tuner, Where have you been all my life?
I saw a picture of one of these in a music magazine, and nearly ran to buy one.
As a lifetime guitar player and online guitar instructor, I heartily recommend this to my guitar students, and anyone who plays guitar.
It functions really well, both as a tuner, and as a capo. One less thing to lose track of!
Tuning is made super-easy by the fact that the screen goes from red to green when the note is correct. Bright, easy to see.
And as a capo, it has the added benefit of helping me quickly make sure my strings are still in good tune, even with the capo on up the neck.
And the price is right.
Whoever designed this little beauty, bravo!

The biggest problem for me is that the capo function of this thing does not have enough clamping force to camp down on the strings firm enough! this is especially true for low E string. i'm going to return this thing and get a separate tuner and Kyser capo instead.

there were so many high reviews, there is a chance i got a defective unit but it appears to be more of a design problem where the spring used is too weak.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Investment A Musician Can Make, May 22, 2010
This review is from: Intellitouch CT1 Capo Tuner (Electronics)
It picks up the vibration from your instrument, rather than relying upon a microphone, so it's accurate even when others are tuning. Automatic backlight, VERY long battery life (I've had this one for years, still don't have to change it.) You can do odd tunings, or put it back to standard A 440. Turns itself off, but not inordinately, not while you're still trying to tune, as the built-in tuner in my Adamas does.

Being in tune is essential, whether you're a beginner or a pro. This thing makes it easy to be in tune, no matter what. Highly recommended!

I have looked for a tuner like this for a long time. It is fast, easy to operate, lite, and fits in any pocket. It is rare to find a better than advertised product.

I got this to use on a classical guitar particularly for playing in church services. Because my pickup is phantom powered, it is too complicated to route my audio signal directly through a tuner. Nowhere do they tell you the width of this capo. It is about 2" [or 5 cm], so it does work on most classicals, though with no room to spare. While it is nice to get a reading on whether your strings are still in tune once the capo is clamped on, the problem for me is that one needs to strike the string loudly for the display to respond -- making it unusable during a service.
