5.0 out of 5 stars Pre Usurper, September 21, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Intense Brutality (Audio CD)
This is General Diabolical Slaughter and Apocalyptic Warlords band before they joined forces with Rick Scythe to form Usurper, one of the greatest Thrash/Death band this country had to offer in the 90's. Overall its an ok disc, but these guys were young when they did this so production is garagey sounding. Definatley for those that cant live without hearing the roots of usurper. Recommended \m/

5.0 out of 5 stars scary kids go evil, August 8, 2008
This review is from: Intense Brutality (Audio CD)
"Intense Brutality" ,Yes but for the time this was a statement and a stand for extreme music. A very mature statement coming from a band whos average age was 15.We get pummeled by this stuff all the time, but the memories of hearing this stuff in 1989 to 1992 was trully an artistic adventure. These mid western teen agers had all the power and might of a seasoned Napalm Death. The combination of the thick sludge guitars and the animated tin sound of the drums grinding out create a sinister groove thru out these songs. Top it all off with an unhuman bellowing vocal and you got one scary atomsphere going.More death than grind and very original arrangements. An important footnote in death metal history..
