4.0 out of 5 stars Nugent live playing original songs that you have never heard
Recorded live at various concerts, the album starts out of the gate at guitars blaring, drums pounding and doesn't let up. Its a great collection of songs that never seemed to make it on studio-released albums, it's just Ted and the gang having fun and rocking out in concert. While none of these songs were ever chart toppers, they are just great rock-n-roll. Its...

3.0 out of 5 stars Ted Nugent - 'Intensities In Ten Cities' (Sony)
Not as good as his 'Double Live Gonzo' (see my review), but still worth your time to check it out. First off, I never realized that all ten cuts here are original material. That's usually taking a major risk with fans. I mean, let's face it, most people buy a live album to hear live versions of songs they're familiar with. Right? Either way, 'Intensities In Ten Cities' is...

4.0 out of 5 stars Nugent live playing original songs that you have never heard, March 30, 1999

This review is from: Intensities in 10 Cities (Audio CD)
Recorded live at various concerts, the album starts out of the gate at guitars blaring, drums pounding and doesn't let up. Its a great collection of songs that never seemed to make it on studio-released albums, it's just Ted and the gang having fun and rocking out in concert. While none of these songs were ever chart toppers, they are just great rock-n-roll. Its the perfect CD to play in the car. You will be fighting the uncontrollable urge to pin the gas pedal to the floorboard when the guitars start playing on "Put Up or Shut Up", "TNT Overture", or "Heads Will Roll". While not endorsed by the National Highway Safety Commission, it does make being stuck in traffic much more enjoyable. Before long, the person in front of you with the blinker going for the last 20 minutes while you have only moved 30 feet just doesn't seem to matter. You will find yourself tapping the toes, drumming on the steering wheel, air guitar on the seat belt, and singing along with "Flying Lip Lock" or "Land of a Thousand Dances" and have a smile on your face. If you like Ted Nugent, you will like this album.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Nuge at his best!, August 5, 2003
This review is from: Intensities in 10 Cities (Audio CD)
This is all-out, cocked, locked, and ready-to-rock Gonzo Tedly at his finest. Songwriting prowess? We don't need none of that - each and every song is an excuse for a guitar solo, the way Nuge music was intended. If you're looking for well-thought melodies and depth in lyrics, go find Cat Stevens. If you want your rock loud, raw, and Nugified, look no further. This is the real thing.

3.0 out of 5 stars Ted Nugent - 'Intensities In Ten Cities' (Sony), April 6, 2005

Right? Either way, 'Intensities In Ten Cities' is a decent record. Tracks that I dug the most were "Put Up Or Shut Up", good 'ol Uncle Ted's love song "My Love Is Like A Tire Iron", "Jailbait", "Heads Will Roll" and his remake of an old Motown classic "Land Of A 1000 Dances". Line-up: Ted - guitar & vocals, Charlie Huhn - rhythm guitar & vocals, Dave Kiswiney - bass&vocals and Cliff Davies - drums. Good to pull out and play every now and then.

4.0 out of 5 stars this was a good idea., August 12, 2011

few artists would do what ted here did. However usually they have s studio track for a single release. Still he does all original music except 'land of a thousand dances' a motown classic soul song and debuts them live!
It good nugent and it's well recorded. This is as good as 'scream dream' in some ways too. Ted is a original all the way here and he made some cool melodic metal for us all to head band too 'live'.

One of the best Ted Nugent's recordings ever... Includes 10 non-previously released songs, recorded live in 10 different cities during a tour... Mr. Nugent performance is excellent for all ten pieces.

Now here's a way to complete your contractual obligation. Put out a live album of new songs that sound like you wrote them right before the show. But you know what? This isn't bad. In fact, it's better than a lot of the albums he put out after 1978. And the band plays the tunes with such vigor, you'd think they were playing the hits. Highlights include the killer "Put Up or Shut Up", "The Flying Lip Lock" (you catch that title?), and the song with the best title of all time, "My Love Is Like a Tire Iron". You also get a smoking version of Wilson Pickett's "Land of a Thousand Dances" and a cool instrumental in "The TNT Overture". And how could you not love the all-out silliness of "I Am a Predator"? Granted, this isn't a classic in the vein of Double Live Gonzo. However, if you're a fan of the Nuge, you'll dig this.

3.0 out of 5 stars Save your money and buy "Double Live Gonzo" instead, February 6, 2010

This has some fun songs on it and is good rock 'n' roll, but it doesn't match "Double Live Gonzo" - not even close. I bought this many years ago and liked it OK, but mostly I laughed a lot at the crazy song titles. Once you get past the silly song titles, yeah, the music is OK (it's not anything like his best work), but if you don't have "Double Live Gonzo", I would strongly recommend that over this album. I bought my Nugent albums many years ago when he was "just" a musician - before he started talking about his bizarre, almost psychopathic political views.

Ted Nugent in the early 80's....
I Remember buying this album when it came out in back in '81 an it was then one of my favourite albums.
When it arrived it brought back great memories of those years.

4.0 out of 5 stars A pretty cool idea and it's also Live Ted, August 14, 2006

All-in-all just a fun record. The songs are original and there are some killer songs, some funny (what the heck was he thinking), and some duds. It's live and that's always a bonus for Ted fans.
