4.0 out of 5 stars The reality is better than fantasy, May 17, 2002
This review is from: Intent To Seduce (Harlequin Blaze) (Paperback)
Dr. Mackenzie Lloyd is a bookworm she is more comfortable with charts and graphs than people. Her recent experiment is a personal as well as professional one. She wants to be married eventually and when she does she wants to make sure her marriage is a good solid one. She knows that one way to keep a man is with a lot of good sex. She's studied from madams as well as interviewed dozens of men. Now the hard part she needs a test subject. Doing one of her best friends Sophie a favor she ends up with Lucas Wainright a serious CEO.

She's always felt a little heat with him but she can't believe when he agrees to be her guinea pig. She intends to weave intricate fantasies between them but he throws her research out the window when she realizes he doesn't want a fantasy he wants her but after all the pretending...who is she anyway? A book that has plenty of sexuality as well as a nice secondary plot invloving a bit of mystery.

5.0 out of 5 stars Winner of the WordWeaving Award of Excellence, May 9, 2002
This review is from: Intent To Seduce (Harlequin Blaze) (Paperback)
Dr. MacKenzie Lloyd moves her scientific research from the lab to the bedroom with a three-step plan formulated to please her future husband. She has gathered imperial evidence, interviewed professionals, and formed her hypothesis. Now she needs to test the validity of her conclusions in the field. In other words, Mac needs a man to help her put her theories in practice. But when her starts practicing her techniques on sexy CEO Lucas Wainright, Mac gets rather unexpected results.

With looks like a fallen angel, Lucas makes women's hearts go pitter pat, but he decided a long time ago that he does not need the responsibility of a wife. Mac's unorthodox proposition of no strings attached sex is tempting. Lucas senses a sensual, sexy woman concealed beneath Mac's prim, innocent appearance. Her courage and honesty likewise provide enticing allure. In fact, he has never met a woman who arouses such erotic fantasies in him, yet she has yet to reveal that the attraction is mutual. The result is a heady challenge Lucas cannot resist.

Seductive fantasy meets the demands of reality in INTENT TO SEDUCE with the sophisticated flair that characterizes author Cara Summer's work. Indeed, seduction becomes both a science and an art, carefully balancing the desires of the libido with the needs of the heart. This brilliant scientist and talented CEO need to learn that sensuality and romance go hand in hand when two people share their profound connection. More accustomed to lab experiments than bedroom ones, Mac proves to be an enticing heroine as she formulates her plans to please Lucas. Her savvy, gutsy experimentation make her a real delight. Lucas' demand for reality to supplant fantasy does not fit with Mac's plan, providing titillating conflict of the sensual nature. A strong secondary plot lends added depth and more delightful characters. Indeed, an absolutely memorable romp, INTENT TO SEDUCE earns the WordWeaving Award of Excellence.

3.0 out of 5 stars Predictable, but enjoyable, January 28, 2007

This review is from: Intent To Seduce (Harlequin Blaze) (Paperback)
Dr Mac Lloyd hates the idea of men cheating after marriage, and she's about to do something about it. To prevent her future husband from straying, she did research on male sexual fantasies. But the next step of her plan was to test her research and with the help of her best friend, Mac had a test partner in Lucas Wainright. There's only one goal for the both of them, to test the research without falling in love. But are feelings really that easy to manipulate?

Knowing that this book is a Harlequin novel, I expected it to be poorly written with cheesy romance and no plot or character development. I was pleasantly surprised when near the end of the novel, there was little bit of an action subplot. If this book was published by some more credible publisher, I wouldn't give it 3 stars (maybe 1 star) but since this is Harlequin, and they aren't known for publishing bestsellers, I did give this book some credit for actually holding my attention until the end of the book.
