The steel channels provided for mounting these shelves don't fit the upper sections. "Adjustability" requires installing/removing 8 screws per shelf and mounting them in one of 4 predetermined locations in the lower cabinet section.

I purchased 5 of the garage storage cabinets with accessory drawers, slatboard, bins, hooks and shelves recently, intending to replace all the mismatched storage solutions I'd accumulated over the years. After completely assembling the cabinets, mounting drawers in the lower sections, and screwing them to the garage walls, I tried to install the adjustable shelves in the upper sections, as the manufacturer's enclosed directions and website said could be done. (No details of the mounting are provided.)

As manufactured, they _can_not_ be mounted in the upper sections. I emailed the manufacturer's customer service department, but did not get a reply within 4 days.

Details: The steel channels have holes and ribs that are supposed to project into the walls of the cabinet uprights. These channels easily mount in the lower cabinet sections if that is what you desire. The molded recesses in the upper cabinet sections are deeper and shorter than those in the lower section, and the steel channels are 3/8 inch longer than the recesses and cannot be mounted in them. I measured the channels and if they were shorter, the screw holes would not align with the molded holes. There are no other accessories sold that utilize the molded recesses of the upper cabinet.

This simple accessory of the system and the lack of response from the "customer service" department, has soured my opinion of an otherwise great storage system. If I'd known in advance that these shelves could not be used in the upper sections I would have looked for another product.

Very happy with this purchase. Surprised by the light weight while still being very strong. No doubt they will hold what ever I put on them.
