Okay, so I bought this because I still love PS1 games... As it turned out, I got some funky UK version and it only works on the PS1. I loaded it into my PS2 and got all of the startup screens, then when it started reading the disc the screen went black! I still had sound so I treid it several times to no avail... This was severly dissapointing, so why did I still give it 3 stars? I tried it on a friends PS1 and it worked fine as long as I used av cables (yellow, red and white at both ends). Well after I picked up an old PS1 on Ebay, it worked great. The fact that I had to buy a PS1 to get this thing to work was obserd, they should include that it only works on the PS1 in the product description.

This is said by several comments and by the seller to work on the PlayStation, however i would have to disagree, it in no way works on my ps1. It does however work on the Ps2 which fortunately i have, and it is a code device for the ps1 title games, so as fer that I'm OK, however it does require the user to sacrifice save space on the memory card for the purpose of adding new games and codes, since unlike the previous versions of the game shark, this does not come with its own personalized memory card for storing cheat and code data.

So in the end this device does satisfy if your purposes are for cheating and hacking your original play station games however, if you intend to do so you better have a Ps2 because with my experience it will not run on the PlayStation. As well get yourself a spare memory card for storing your codes, who knows how much data this thing will take up.

In the end i got the product that i wished for and am happy to be able to play my games with and edge when i need it.

I bought this GameShark when I had the urge to play the PS1. As some people know, this item carries the added bonus of allowing you to play import games on your USA PS1. There are other devices out there which allow you to do this but this GameShark is the best way. When making this purchase, I decided to buy two of them in the event one should break. The method for playing your imports can be found on video sites like YouTube. Besides that, this GameShark is a great tool for your games and will come in very handy. Hope this review helps you out.

The product works great, except it would freeze up in the middle of gameplay. I think was happening due to the fact that I was playing an older console, bought used from a garage sale. Other than that the Gameshark worked perfect!

I like to have extra gil to by weapons and armor and potions. I can pretty much do rest from there. I like to build up my levels before i go hunting anyways. Like I will be at level 12 by the time I get to my first boss. Sticking to that rule has done alot for me when playing RPGs. I have found that I can really enjoy the game and loose my life too soon when I get to some new and nasty monsters.

It came on time and it was completely packaged and unopened. The product also worked well.
