Customer Questions & Answers

Customer Reviews

The suction cups work well.
James
The "mirror" surface backing is not glass or even plastic -- it's paper, thin cardboard if you want to be generous.
Publius-1776
The water reservoir is easy to fill with hot water which keeps the mirror fog free for the entire shower/shave.

This mirror just plain works. Fogless and easy to use.

Some points to remember based on other's reviews:

1) Remove the protective sticker on the mirror otherwise you won't be able to see yourself. It seems some people have a problem with this concept (Not sure they should be shaving with a sharp object in the shower....)

2) There is one suction cup on the back. The suction cup is quite large (about 3 inches across) and may not stick to certain types of tiles (rough surfaces) or installations (small tiles with a lot of grout lines). This is not a manufacturing problem. It is a physics problem that you will have with any suction cup mounted mirror.

3) When you are done in the shower, flip the mirror over and hang it on the suction cup so it drains properly and you don't develop a mold farm inside the mirror.

I shave in the shower and have used many types of fogless shower mirrors. This one is far and away the best. All of the others eventually lose their fog free coating and are easily scratched. The Fog Away Suction Mirror does not have a coating, hence the problem does not exist. It is also ideal for travel.

I am a guy who likes to shave in the shower, I shave my face and head every morning and I need a good shower mirror. I have tried many different kinds but this is the only 1 I have ever found that really will not fog up! I would reccomend this to anyone who want to shave in the shower. You will not be disappointed.

update Nov 2011

I just ordered a new one, why because it fell and broke! This mirror is the best on the market, it never fogs up. Just be careful if it does fall and land just right it can break the piece that is used to hang it from the suction cup.

Let me preface my review by saying that in the last three years I've placed 322 orders with Amazon. I've bought many wonderful items here. However, this is the FIRST time I have ever reviewed any of my Amazon purchases. The mirror is THAT great!

First, if you are reading this, ignore all of the silly people that purchased this mirror and are saying that it is hazy. Apparently, they were too blind or incompetent to notice the plastic protective film that covers the mirror. Once you remove the plastic, you will reveal a perfectly pristine, shiny, and very clear mirror. Go figure!

The mirror's function is simple and ingenious. Simply stick the suction cup to your shower wall, fill the mirror with hot water, hang the mirror from the suction cup, and then stare at your beautiful mug and ponder how attractive you are. Or at least that's what I did.

The mirror does not show one iota or speck of fogging when used in my steaming hot showers, and makes it oh-so-easy for me to shave my face each morning. When you're finished, just hang the mirror upside down to let the water drain. That's it.

This is by far the BEST seven dollars I have ever spent in my life. Someone on here mentioned it didn't come with instructions. Really? Are you that daft? Don't pay any attention to the "gifted" people reviewing this mirror. It is an amazing product and works exactly as advertised.

This is the third fog free shower mirror I have purchased in the last 10 years and so far it is the best, and at a lower price than the previous. This mirror is really fog free. The design is exactly what I wanted with a large mirror surface and a place to store razor blade and shave cream. Constructed of stainless material not plastic. No radio, no clock, no LED lights, NO BATTERIES! I love products that are simple, are inexpensive, and function for what they were designed to do.

Some have complained that the suction cups do not hold in the shower...I don't believe anything with suction cups will hold forever in the shower. My tip is to tie some shower rope around the cups and hang mirror on a hook, preferably installed in the drywall above the tile if possible, and use the suction cups to keep in place and from swinging free.

Some have complained that the razor hook lets razors fall off too easily. My tip is to bend the hook upward, that's right it is metal, to get the right angle. If that is not enough glue some small rubber grippers on the razor hook, I have not had to do this.

My last tip is that you hang the mirror on a hook at the far end of the shower away from the shower head. This will keep the mirror clean from calcium, lime, soaps and shampoo buildups. I have learned that once you start cleaning and wiping a fog free mirror it begins to remove the coating that makes it fog free.

Now that I have tried this mirror out for a couple of months I am going to order a second one for another bathroom.

My hubby loves this mirror. You actually pour hot water into a space behind the mirror and it keeps the mirror from fogging. We've tried several different fog-free mirrors over the years from all different ranges of prices and none have worked. We finally have success!

I love the idea for this product, and would love to say whether the fog-free aspect of it works or not, but I unfortunately can't because when I fill the back of the mirror with water, it's too heavy for the very cheap suction cup, and it falls. I'm trying to put it on a clean glass surface, which should be the easiest surface to use. I've also tried tile, which is on another wall of my shower. I've tried hanging the cup wet, dry, re-bending it to make it work, all to no avail. I've even hung it just to use as a mirror without any water in it (the hot water is what makes it fog free, but a foggy mirror is better than no mirror when shaving), but even without water it's still too heavy and falls. Beyond the problem with the suction cup, I'm not thrilled about the design of the mirror itself. I bought this to replace an existing mirror that has its suction cups on the back. In my shower the glass only goes about 5'8" high, and then there's a brass cross bar for about another four inches on top of that, which I would imagine is pretty standard. I mention this because with my previous mirror, because the suction cups are on the back, the mirror itself can be hung higher and are at the level of my face (I'm six feet tall). For the InterDesign, because it has to hang below the suction cups, even at the highest point it would be several inches too low. I'm definitely being picky, but I consider this a flaw. Of course, because of the poor suction cup it doesn't stay up anyway.

UPDATE from one week later: I left the mirror hanging from a hook in the shower. Two days ago I found that the mirror lens had fallen off, leaving only the clear plastic part of the item. It's apparently held on by two pieces of two-sided tape, which don't work anyway. This is a piece of junk.
