I had a stainless steel rolltop breadbox for years, and I hated it! It was impossible to keep clean, and if I was lucky, I could fit two small loaves of bread in it. Well, I finally had enough and searched for other options. I came across this item and although slightly sticker shocked at first, it was the best $50 I ever spent! The breadbox is huge, will easily fit two loaves of bread with plenty of room for hamburger or sandwich buns. With my husband gone for a few weeks I haven't been able to fully test the capacity, but I can tell you it's triple what I could fit in my old one! The construction is very durable as well. I can't say enough about this item!!!

I was all set, to give a glowing review to this, the second breadbox from Formbu- whoever invented that name!

Amazon, how about stating on your website, if products are from China- so to give us a choice.

The first smaller box, was even smaller than the Website stated- so it went back.
called amazon and let them know-they said ,it would be corrected--not so.
The measurements on this large box are as follows:
18X10X7.5 and not as stated on th website: 18.7X15.1X11.5--wow what a difference!!

Apparently the Chinese cannot count either- oh , give me a break.
Amazon, how can you put measurements on your website, that are so illusive and incorrect- Shame on you!!!

Furthermore:
The workmanship is shoddy. The box left a huge deep scratch on my beautiful countertop.
I was livid- turned the box over and felt many sharp edges and points. Took a nailfile, smoothed the bottom and attached feltpads and now that problem is solved- though the gouge on my counter remains.
Formbu- what will you do about that???
Now then, the bamboo is rough edged- be careful to check that.
For this kind of money I expected top notch appearance.
Will not send it back as it performs well for now.
But really, CHINA- can't you do better?

They tell you the LARGE bread box is 19 by 15-1/2 by 11 inches
But it only measures 18" long 10" wide 7" tall and yes
all the paper work and the lable on the front of the bread
box says LARGE. Wish there was someone you could call, will be
sending it back on monday

Very Very dis-appointed

This box is described as "19 by 15-1/2 by 11 inches" in the Product Features, and again as "18.7 x 15.1 x 11.5 inches " in the Product Details, so I expected it to be at least 18.5 x 15 x 11. But when it arrived, it only measures 18x10x7, which is less than half the volume I expected

The bread box itself is nice and functions as it should. The large 5" x 8" paper label with industrial strength adhesive stuck right on the front of it - not so much. It took me over 45 minutes to scrape the darn label off of the item and there is still some sticky residue on the front of the bread box. Could it not have been shrink wrapped and had the label stuck on the shrink wrap??? This problem needs to be addressed.

This bread box is the perfect size for me to fit at least 2 full loaves with some extra room for hamburger buns. I must say that when I read the review complaining about the sticker that came on the front, I was confused as to why this person made such a big deal about a silly sticker! Turns out, they were completely right! This GIANT label that's on the front of this product is absolutely impossible to remove cleanly. After removing the paper of the label, the entire adhesive was left behind. The only thing that ended up working was covering the whole area with Goo Gone ... letting it sit and using my fingernail (for at least an hour) to release this sticky mess. I tried knives and sandpaper but the plain old fingernail seemed to work best ... with a lot of patience! So with that said, the breadbox is clean of any sticky mess and is gorgeous ... I love it :)

After reading the bad reviews I'm glad I took a chance. I wanted a large bread box that looked modern, but was practical and this is perfect. It holds: 2 loaves of bread, pkg of buns, nutella, peanut butter, and sandwich cutters with room to spare.

There is a sticker that comes on the bread box itself - right on the lid - front and center that you cannot remove the sticky stuff on. I've tried everything - water, rubbing alcohol, acetone and nothing works. The paper part of the stick comes off fine with soaking, but there is a plastic coating between the paper part and the sticky part that nothing can penetrate. I could scrape it hard with a knife, but that would damage the bamboo. This renders the product completely unusable. DO NOT BUY.

The bread box is fine. It is smaller than advertised but my main issue was the un-packaging. It took me more than seventy-five minutes to remove the sticker on the box. Not sure why there needs to be a sticker with the picture of the bread box on the bread box itself, seems a bit redundant to me. Additionally, there is a metal surface on the bottom so why not put all stickers there instead of on the bamboo, which is generally delicate. I used WD-40, mineral oil and my finger nails to remove the sticker, which has cheap paper (thus tearing often) and an adhesive that could be used in a craft carpentry shop. If I had to do it over, I wouldn't purchase this bread box due to the extremely long set up time. Come to think of it I've put IKEA furniture together faster than I could remove the sticker from this bread box.

I needed a big box that would hold a loaf of bread and half dozen bagels, so I thought this box would do the trick. Well, it holds the bread and bagels with room to spare, but they go stale faster in the box then in the plastic bag they come in. Incredible disappointment.

The lid does not even come close to sealing. There are large openings near the corners, a gap by the hinges, and no rubber or plastic along any portion of the lid that would come even close to helping seal the box. You might as well just leave you bread out on the counter as use this bread box.
