Well, here's proof that you get what you pay for. Yes, once you add in shipping costs, you're looking at a 25 dollar set of coasters, and that may seem like a lot. In fact, there's only 4 of them here, so you're looking at 6 dollars each, give or take, for slabs of metal and rubber to set your drinks on. Rest assured, though, that if you have the money to spare, these are well worth it. Each coaster is a nice sturdy slab of steel, with a smooth rubber base and good rubber grips on the surface. Glasses don't slide or stick, the coasters clean easily if you need to wipe them down, and they look pretty classy in their rack. My only complaint is that the rack doesn't hug them as tightly as it could, so they rattle around a bit, but they stack nicely and are well worth the purchase. A good buy.
The bottom line: - Great, quality set of coasters - Sleek design is a visual treat - Worth the money, even though it may seem pricey

I have had two sets of these for about three years. I think they are great. The rubber grips keep the glass in place, and let the condensation go below the glass. If they start to mildew from a lot of use and leaving glasses sitting repeatedly overnight (leaving more condensation), they are easy to wipe up with a damp wash cloth. Mine have lasted and are still in good shape after all these years. I am ordering more, because with four boys in the house, some have "gone missing".
They look quite nice. They don't stand out on the built in bookshelves in my living room, and they blend in on my desktops... Over-all just a very nice quality.

poorly made,

The coasters look nice, but they have many scratches on them. I think it is the way the made them. The rubber strips on top look as if they were glued to the top, then cut into strips with a knife. There are scratches that go along the rubber strips and off the end as if they cut down the length of it with s knife. Some of them were not even cut straight or still have little bits of rubber along the edges. I think whoever made them should have taken more time. They look good from far, but when it sits in front of you they look poorly made. Other than that, the steel seems sturdy with a nice rubber pad on the bottom. The outer lip of the coaster is good to hold some condensation that drips off the cup so it won't ruin wood furniture.

Great quality stainless steel coasters,

These stainless steel coasters are great quality. It's a bit fiddly to clean inbetween all the rubber areas, but they do stop the coaster sticking to the bottom of a 'wet/icy' glass. I've had them for years & they still look like new.

Good price, fast shipping, look great. Only con would be they do not "absorb" liquid. They have a lip that will catch and hold liquid but the bottom of your glass or drink might still be wet. One reviewer mentioned something about scratches on his set?? mine arrived packed well and in perfect condition. I think they would look and work best in a contemporary setting as in my case. I am very happy with my purchase.

Expensive but well built. The rubber is non-slip. The stainless looks good.
In general I'd say: worth the extra money, they are quite solid. Sergio V.

I purchased these thinking that for the price ($21.00 from Amazon when I purchased them) that they were a solid chunk of stainless steel which had been machined to have an area for the cup to sit. In reality, however, they are a very thin sheet of steel that has been stamped into the shape shown. They are very lightweight, and if you press on the bottom of the coaster, it is so thin that you can actually warp the metal. I'll be sending these back because they feel like something I can get at the 99-cent store.

These coasters are great, and appear just as in the product photo. They seem very durable and the non-slip surface has already proven to be more than sufficient. I bumbed the arm (wood, not cloth) of the sofa where I was testing out the coaster and the coaster and glass didn't budge.

When I imbibe in my nightly drink of the moments' pleasure, I want to set the class down on something sturdy that will not shift or spill. This coaster set is perfect for stability and your glass will not slide off. With it's stainless steel framework it has a very classy look to it.
