I love this pencil cup! No more catch-all pencil drawer in my kitchen, and my pens are right next to my magnetic shopping list, on the fridge, where I need them. And, added bonus, I can keep those pens up high where they are easy to access for quick notes or additions to the shopping list, but out of reach for my artistic 3 year old! One other thing I love - the magnet is super strong! I can stuff this thing with ALL my pens, and it never slides or falls off when the fridge door gets slammed!

I was a little apprehensive when I ordered this magnetic holder since I read (or should I say "watch") the one star review that shows it not holding to that guys refrigerator door. I have to say that I had no problem whatsoever with it, the minute I put it in the refrigerator door it hold very strongly, I do have a bunch of pens and pencils there now and it has not bunched.

I love this product! We put it on the refrigerator, and keep our grocery list in it - whenever we run out of anything, it goes right on the list. I love products that work for me (not the other way around).

this product is worth buying. Have over 10 pens. Still has not fallen.

I had to show that I am not kidding. This seller wasted precious resources such as fuel, packing materials, and time.

First off, the details say this thing measures at 6.25" x 2.1" x 4". That's simply not correct, and is likely representative of the packaging. The actual dimensions are 3.5" x 1.75" x 3". That's practically half the size of what I was expecting, and the result is FAR less storage than I needed.

Overall, I'd say this thing isn't up to par. The stainless steel is a decent gauge, but the edges are unfinished and slightly sharp in some sections.

The magnet isn't as bad as some reviewers have suggested (I think it's more of an issue of the quality of surface this needs to go on - I highly doubt it could hold its weight on a whiteboard, but that shouldn't be a surprise). It could be a bit stronger, as I've noticed it can rotate in place fairly easily, but it still doesn't slide or fall off - I have it mounted on the arm of my desk (an IKEA jerker frame), so it has a good solid heavy metal \m/ surface to grab on to.

For this price, it's not likely something I'll return, but if it were any more expensive, I'd likely get rid of it right away.

I have a high-quality porcelain white board, and I have a variety of magnetic accessories that stick to it like glue. But this thing won't even stay upright. It has a huge metal plate on the back that looks just like a magnet, and it there does seem to be a little tug when I set against the board. But as soon as I put more than a couple of pens in it, it starts sliding down the board or it rotates on its own axis and dumps them out! Pretty useless.

Given all the positive reviews for this product, I'm going to assume that I got the same kind of dud that JT Fundaddy got, return it, and see what happens with the next one. But even if that one works, I have to question the production quality of this product. Its sole claim to fame is that it's magnetic, and it's not.

Quick update, 2/12/11: I complained to seller, which in my case was Organize-It, and they immediately sent me a replacement at no charge. So they did the right thing, but the product still isn't very good. The new cup is slightly more magnetic than the first one, and it will just about stay where I put it on the white board. But it's still pretty weak and will fall off if I bump the board. Definitely not a good product.

I like the look, but the construction wasn't what I had hoped for. The bottom fell apart and, short of welding it back together, I'm not sure how to repair it.

My son has the pencil cup holder in his inside his locker door. It keeps his pens, pencils and markers handy. Although he slams the door when he closes the locker, the holder stays in place!!! Recommend highly!!!

I was worried this wouldn't stay up very well. The magnet is VERY strong; it's actually a little hard to get it off the refrigerator unless you really pull. Great Product.
