Consider how much hanger space you want to use here. This one, with belts attached has a significant footprint in a closet, which if you are trying to make the good use of the space is an important consideration. I wanted a belt rack to store 6 belts and some ties, and this monster tends up taking the room of ~ 6 pairs of pants(especially due to the need for a gap to hook things from the side of the hanger, which you don't have with normal forward-backward movement of clothes hangers). That is just wasteful to me. As such, I consider this a poor design for a storage "aid".
Note: The smooth metal is not a high friction surface- silk ties can occasionally fall off if the balance gets disturbed. Compared to the size issue, this is relatively minor concern for me in practice.
Applying 3 stars because it is robust/functional(holds up your belts and ties), but is far from an elegant or efficient solution.
