5.0 out of 5 stars A Two Page Package, May 2, 2001

This review is from: 26 Interactive Alphabet Mini-Books (Grades PreK-1) (Paperback)
This is an excellent resource for the early childhood teacher. This book offers the opportunity for children to write the letters, to read words that begin with the letters and to look for environmental print containing each letter. Each letter of the alphabet is a neat little package in two pages. The pages are folded into a small book. It gives children a concrete method for reviewing the letters when taken home to share with family members. For children with little or no access to books at home, these mini-books increase the availability of alphabet books. The author offers many ideas to expand on the books. There are many ways to personalize each child's book. Children are successful when they can read and these books are one step to achieving this success!

I'm an LD resource teacher and I use these books with my kindergarten students to reinforce their classroom learning. The book gives them practice writing the letter in both upper and lower case, finding the letter in print, and seeing words/pictures of things that start with each letter. My kids love them. They are easy to put together compared to many mini-books I have seen, although I have to put them together for my little ones because they can't cut the right places or use the stapler. But the time spent is well worth it!

This is a great resource for early grades and special education. The format is easy to follow and the pictures help young children identify the words.
