The textbook has poor illustrations and is meant as a guidebook to the ADAM Interactive Anatomy 4 Student Edition. One would do far better purchasing Netter with the CD, plus the ADAM Practice CD if you like to quiz yourself with the pins in anatomical objects. The ADAM CD is facinating as it allows you to slowly dissect the subject but it lacks many landmarks. I still feel as though the scope of Netter is far superior.

The software available with this book is awesome once you get it to work with your computer. This was a required book and cd for an anatomy class I'm taking at the university level but I had so much trouble getting it to work properly with my computer. When I tried to contact the ADAM interactive technical support with the telephone number given with the cd I was put through to a salesman for the company and he told me that the only way to get help from their (one!) technical support manager was to contact him through e-mail and wait for the reply. After e-mailing their technical support manager I received a reply two days later. After several different methods of trying to correct the problem with the cd the technical support manager made a point to tell me that maybe I should buy the online version of the ADAM software since the version I had was "VERY OLD". I was determined not to have to purchase a new set of software for this class so after about a week of e-mail correspondence with the company I was finally able to get the software to work on my (windows 7 fully functional) computer.

Though the software is fabulous I would recommend looking into buying the online version of the software (see ADAM's website) because all the configuration problems with this "VERY OLD" product and my new computer. The product is great, but the technical support was a hassle, it seems like there should have been an easier solution.

I have not used the actual book yet but I have used the CD rom disc over and over. The disc is easy to use and very helpful. My children have even used it for their classes. Excellent resource for anyone taking human biology in college or even biology in high school.

There are many useful features in this edition. It's a shame they don't work. One of the most heavily used features is Find; it finds things and displays a list properly, but gives no links to the View in which the item exists! You have to use the dropdown lists for each of the Views to actually find the View for the item. Find worked in Version 1, so someone must have fixed it. The product is virtually useless without Find, IMO.

I'll tell you in one sentence. It made the difference between a B and A when it came to lab practicals. I've heard it can be used in more advanced classes, too. Ask yourself--do you want to have your access limited by the hours of your school's science center or do you want to have it at home where you can study as long as you need--whenever you want?

This book is extrememly helpful with human anatomy. The CD that comes with the book gives great insight into the human body and how it is structured. This is something that you cannot learn very well in lecture or even in a laboratory as the specimens are not generally in an 'ideal' shape. Very informative.

I am so happy with ordering my books from Amazon. Especially the fact that I can oder something and it's here when they say it will be.

The ADAM interactive CD set is a must for anyone who wants to truly learn how the human body works.
