Inside every HT-135 are the "hands" of a trained massage therapist. RMT closely replicates the therapeutic techniques used by back and spinal care professionals and is the preferred technology of the American College of Chiropractic Orthopedists. The massage modes that the HT-135 employs are designed to follow the natural contour of your spine to give your back a complete treatment.
With the HT-135, you customize each movement to your own preference and need. With a simple touch of the chair's wired remote, you can choose the mode of massage that you want -- rolling, kneading, percussion, or compression -- and the speed you desire for each mode. By manually positioning the rollers to the zone of the back you want to focus on, you can get a full or partial, pre-programmed 15-minute message at the level of intensity that you want.
The Four Modes of Massage
From the controls of the chair's conveniently placed wired remote, you can choose the "mode" of your massage. The "rolling" mode is designed to give you the feel of a gentle massage by pressing firmly on one side of your spine and then the other. This mode is a tension reducer and works to prepare your back for deeper tissue work. The chair's "kneading" option, offered in two speeds, feels like thumbs pressing firmly in circular motion on both sides of the spine and is a great way to improve your back's circulation. With the two speeds of "compression" mode -- an RMT exclusive -- the chair gives you the feel of the heel of your therapists hands, firmly pushing on muscles alongside your spine -- movement that's designed to aid in improving your mobility and posture. And with the "percussion" mode, also offered in two speeds, you'll feel fists, or the edge of a pair of strong hands, rapidly tapping on your back muscles. This is a popular therapy in sports medicine, and is used to flex spinal joints and invigorate your entire back. So, regardless of your massage needs, the HT-135 is designed to help.
In addition to all of this, the HT-135 offers a combined kneading and percussion function -- the most intense and aggressive massage available. Employing three motors and offering two speed settings, this function will give you the most vigorous, deep tissue message therapy that you can get anywhere.
Full-body Stretching Massages
As if having the power at the tip of your fingertips to massage any part of your back wasn't enough, the HT-135 also gives your calves and feet full treatment, as well as your neck. A powerful, rotating multi-speed foot and calf massager feels like strong hands giving you a thorough, three-dimensional massage. The calf and foot massager is manually deployed, which means that you can massage the exact muscle areas that need it the most. And with the help of a cloth "soft window," the HT-135 can also give your neck a deep, penetrating massage.
But most remarkable is the chair's full-body stretching feature. As the calf muscle wells gently hold your legs, the chair reclines to arch your back. While engaging a gentle body stretching program, the chair will give you an active massage of your lower back. I first tried a massage chair at a friend's house -- an iJoy chair -- and decided then that I absolutely had to have one. I have two old back injuries that never healed properly, and I have chronic back pain in my cervical and thoracic spinal areas. Without this robotic massage chair, I'd be spending hundreds of dollars monthly on a massage therapist. With this chair I simply lie back, turn on the chair with the remote control, and enjoy a quality-of-life saving back massage in my own home. Now that I have it, I don't know how I lived without it!

This chair may not have all the bells and whisles some of the more expensive massage chairs may have but it gives a great massage!
I love the fact that this chair is light in weight.(I was able to slide it out of the box and position it in my room in the location I wanted.) This chair also has a Stretch setting that not all other chairs have which is wonderful after a hard day of work. The chair swivels to the left and right making it more flexible for use as a regular chair while having a conversation.

we have three homes, and three massage chairs. Our first is about ten years old and therefore not as techie as the HT-135. The second is one year old, a Sony, and is very good. No regrets. The HT-135 is very similar, fewer techie adjustments and no heated footrest, but the control pad is intuitive and easy to adjust so I get what I want, and save money too.
