PhysicsTutor Excalibur is a complete, interactive physics tutorial on CD that covers the full physics curriculum from high school physics through the first two semesters of college physics. PhysicsTutor Excalibur teaches physics using a unique, time-saving approach that students really like. PhysicsTutor Excalibur teaches each of the concepts of physics by way of example. This puts each concept into context for a student and makes the concepts easier to understand. Students find this approach much more understandable than the approach that most textbooks take in which concepts are explained in only abstract terms. Here is how PhysicsTutor Excalibur works: 1. First, it breaks down the study of physics into 20 manageable subject areas. 2. When you select a tutorial in one of these 20 subject areas, PhysicsTutor Excalibur displays a question that you will need to be able to answer once you have mastered that subject area of physics. If you already understand how to solve that type of problem, you can go ahead and answer it. However, if you have no idea how to answer that question, you can click on the LEARN button. 3. This will bring up a screen that explains the concept associated with that question and shows you how to, in general, approach that type of question. 4. Then try to answer the question. If you still have difficulty with the question, click on the EXPLANATION button. 5. This will bring up a screen that shows you, in detail, how to solve that specific problem. 6. After you have correctly answered a question, click on the NEXT QUESTION button. 7. Depending on the difficulty of the concept, this will either display another similar question associated with that same concept or a new question that is associated with another concept in that subject area. Compared to reading a traditional physics textbook, PhysicsTutor Excalibur is a much more efficient and effective way to learn physics.

PhysicsTutor Excalibur, formatted just like ChemTutor Excalibur, is a must have for students who want an excellent resource for the Physics SAT II and AP tests. This software allows students who are currently studying material to focus in on many major areas of concentration within Physics. By asking series of multiple choice questions, students are able to find out what they have a good understanding of, and more importantly, where they need to spend more time. The "explain" and "learn" buttons show students how to solve problems, and allows them to see where they are having trouble. Students can choose specific sections to work on as practice and review, but can also set up tests, choosing only the major areas that will be on their next test, to focus in on that information. Because the questions are asked just as they are on the AP and SAT II exam, this program is especially helpful in creating the mode of thinking necessary to do well on these important tests. This is an excellent program for any student who has a passion to excel.

I am a senior in college, and like a lot of people I put off the Physics requirements until the very end. I have found it very difficult to keep myself interested in the course, because the homework assignments are so long and tedious. So, I purchased Excalibur hoping it would be entertaining while teaching me Physics at the same time. Well, it's not very entertaining and I find it very difficult to actually learn Physics from it. The program is good at covering the basic concepts, so you understand the rules being applied. As far as working with the Math, it is extremely lacking. If you are like me and get the general concepts, but have problems applying the math, then, this disc is not for you. Pencil, paper, a textbook, and maybe a solutions manual to verify you are headed in the right direction, are much more effective study tools.

I am currently a high school senior, and I was just recently given a copy of PhysicsTutor three days ago by a teacher of mine. PhysicsTutor has helped me to organize and maximize my efficiency while studying physics. I have only had this product for three days, and already my knowledge of physics has improved dramatically. PhysicsTutor explains the material in an easy concise manner so that I don't get confused with erroneous details. First it helps me learn the material, and then it tests me to make sure I know it. Three days with just an hour or two a night, and now I feel confident raising my hand in class. PhysicsTutor is a wonderful tool for students!
