We bought this to use primarily for homeschooling, and it has been very helpful! It serves as a make-shift school bell to help the kids learn to follow a schedule better. We recorded Daddy's voice (since the kids already hear my voice all day long) saying things like, "First subject...Science" and "Lunch time!" I'm glad the clock comes with an adapter to plug it in. It has been worth the cost; we'd buy one again. I wish the alarm had a volume control, and eight alarm options instead of six, but other than that, I think it's great!

REVIEW EDIT: It was terrific while it worked! Maybe two full years worth of use is too much to expect, but the voice recording feature gave out, and I noticed a tendency for the time to run slow. Every few months it would be as much as 10 minutes off (with fresh batteries, AND the adapter plugged in). I'd love to buy this again if it were of higher quality.

I purchased this to use as a pill reminder and for its clock function. So far I am extremely pleased with both functions. The talking clock that announces both time and date is very loud and clear and an unexpected addition. My own suggestion would be that the clock was luminous which would make it more functional at night but this is compensated for by a backlite button that illuminates the clock for 30 secs. The alarm function that allow you to record your own personal message is great! makes it extremely versatile beyond a medication reminder!. I am very please with this product and would highly recommend it once it proves to be well constructed and remains functional.

I purchased the "Your Minder Personal Alarm Clock" because you can record up to 6 of your own alarm messages. I thought this would be great for my aging mother that needed reminders to take medications. The voice recording works well, but there is no way to eliminate the other messaging that comes out at 4 times the volume of your recorded message which is very irritating. There is no volume control. I put tape over the speakers to reduce the volume but then my recorded voice could not be heard. The pre-recorded messages are so loud you can hear the clock casing rattle. It is not possible to softly wake up with this siren of a voice going off.
