Great games, but stories not appropriate for 3-5 year olds.,

Most of the games are the same between 1, 2, and 3 - only the stories change. You can't save anything from session to session. She is not thrown off by the inappropriate asian symbols that are sprinkled throughout, or oddly-placed back/next buttons, though I wondered why these things weren't fixed when they localized for the US market.
My 4-year-old loves the coloring book and free-coloring - these features sold me on the first Interactive Storybook when she was 3. The music portion is bland but she likes it and just figured out how to record a song and play it back. One of her favorite games is the counting game - she figured out how to do this early and still loves it. However, the stories included in this title are NOT APPROPRIATE for 3-5 year olds. She played with this game and then had a bunch of questions about death - when would our dog die, was grandpa sick, why don't we feed hungry people. I was horrified to realize the story "The Dog from Bruges" (or similiar title) was a story about a starving boy whose dog, grandfather, and finally himself dies from hunger - yet he is somehow happy to die in front of his favorite piece of art. Bizarre. I've never heard this story before, and never will again, as I have disposed of this one. Buy one of the other Interactive Storybooks, which both have good stories and the same games as this one.

I bought this game for my three year old because it said for ages 3-6. She enjoyed the coloring and the piano. But I was highly upset when she listened to a story on it about a dog being killed and buried by a mean man! I can't believe they are selling this game for preschoolers! I took it back to Best Buy and they had no clue about the story. Beware!

My youngest son, he is 54 and he lives with us (that's ok, we love him), well, he loves this so much! He told me something about a dog is in here. So go ahead and buy it. My son reccomends it. He is 54. |
