A Great Discovery!!,
By peter krampert (eharmonica.net) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Intercambio (Audio CD)
While studying the history of the harmonica and it's part in the musics of the world, I have the great pleasure of occasionally coming across an artists who does something that few people are aware of. Damien Masterson is a master interpeter of Latin music on the harmonica. This album features Brazilian music and Masterson achieves the near impossible; he successfully blends his harmonica into the music without it seeming like it was done to be a novelty. It actually fits in quite nicely. He chooses several Brazilian classics as well as a few of his own compositions. The harmonica is blended in as part of the tapestry, not an over-dominating force. The result is an album of superb quality. As much of a delight for the casual listener as it is for the harmonica affeciando. I definitely recommend that you purchase this and Masterson's album of Cuban music as well. They're both keepers.
