5.0 out of 5 stars better than the average skyjack thrillers
I just saw this film less than five minutes ago. I was afraid it would be just another typical direct-to-vid about terrorists hijacking a plane. But I was pleasantly surprised. It's got a lot of action, good performances (after a squeaky, slow-paced first ten minutes), and decent effects. Jurgen Prochnow makes a splendid villain, and it was nice to see Andrew Divoff...

2.0 out of 5 stars Movie doesn't even try to be accurate
I won't totally tear this movie apart, I realize filmakers take dramatic license to entertain. However, as a crewmember on the C-5 galaxy(the cargo plane depicted in this movie), I was insulted as to how cheesy this movie is. The producers should've consulted someone who actually knows what these planes look and operate like.

It's got a lot of action, good performances (after a squeaky, slow-paced first ten minutes), and decent effects. Jurgen Prochnow makes a splendid villain, and it was nice to see Andrew Divoff play a good guy for once. If you like the "one-man-against-a-group-of-terrorists" plot, then check out "Interceptor." Only complaint: there's so much action, the movie's over before you know it.

4.0 out of 5 stars "We have a guest on board.", April 18, 1999

Terrorists seize a cargo plane carrying two stealth bombers and it's up to Andrew Divoff to stop them. A nicely done "Die Hard" clone ( it's better than Passenger 57 ) and a good reason why Trimark Pictures should branch out of the straight-to-video market. Only complaint; they blow too many holes in the plane.

4.0 out of 5 stars A good " High Flying" Thiller, September 24, 2000
This review is from: Interceptor [VHS] (VHS Tape)
A good entertaining film about a group of terrorists that hi-jack a military plane carrying experimental stealth aircraft. Jurgen Prochnow puts on an awesome show as the leader of the terrorist group, and an exceptional show from Andrew Divoff as the fighter-jock that saves the day. As people have said before it is a movie that resembles " Die Hard" but I think it can be considered almost like an Air Force One type flick. Anyway, plenty of action keeps the film moving, and the camera shots of the stealth aircraft are pretty good.

On a positive note, it is fairly entertaining. If you were ever in the Air Force you will probably get a laugh about the wild lack of accuracy. The plot is basically a cliche, and the acting is, despite what the other reviews say, second rate. I only recommend this if you are bored and have seen everything else twice.
