Product Description

2013 Model. Upgrade all your intercom to this Advance 3 wire Plug & Play system. No more searching for AC outlets on the same phase of the wiring. This system bridges the two phases of the AC power-lines in the building and make them invisible. You don't have to fumble for the right outlets to be on the same phase of the wire for the system to communicate. Since the system communicates by using the power-line in the building, no Radio Wave is involved, no worry for EMF danger. It is also free from concrete wall and metal construction material obstructions. Power-line Intercom System transmits wherever a wire in the building goes, up to 1500 feet in a straight line measure.

This intercom system works great.

Could be the crappy old wiring in my house though, but I doubt it, since its not interference just muffled.
Dr. Fuller
Intercoms did not work - not even in a 20 foot radius of each other.

I wanted to rate this 3.5 stars, but what's a guy to do?

I have an office. I have a secretary. Tired of yelling across the building from my office into hers. This is the reason for this product. I cannot speak about large houses or anything else - just a regular office ~ 1,000 square feet.

I ordered this item you see right here, but 3 units arrived. Not sure what exactly happened, but as you can see from this posting, I did order THIS specific item. (Amazon notes when we purchased the item through Amazon.)

Okay, so I got three and did a happy dance. Well, sort of.

The transmit button isn't the greatest. Sometimes I talk to my secretary but the the button isn't somehow fully depressed and she only hears part of my conversation. I am pressing it, but I have to make sure I am always pressing it straight down - a little strange for a unit like this.

Also, this unit DOES NOT WORK WELL unless it is plugged DIRECTLY into the wall. That means NO power strips. If you have to use a power strip, your quality will probably be pretty poor. THIS IS IMPORTANT as it isn't mentioned anywhere else. Don't buy if you need to use power strip with this product.

Okay, so now that I've scared you, this product is just what it says it is. It allows you to talk through the electrical outlets. Not too sexy. Not perfect sound. A little hum when the other person is talking. BUT it has easy setup and I'm not yelling at my secretary any longer. (Well, at least I'm not yelling so she can hear me.)

This unit is decent - pretty much what I expected. Wish the transmit button was better. VERY easy to setup.

Also, only 1 channel works for me. The other two are terrible so I don't use them. There you go!

Often my husband and I are on different floors of our house when we need to speak with each other. The wireless intercom has been great for eliminating some of the trips up and down the stairs.

Before ordering, we read all of the reviews and the problems encountered. The main problem seemed to be getting the two units plugged into the same electrical circuit. With that information and downloading the detailed instructions from the seller's web page, getting the units to work didn't take too long. More instructions came along with the product.

However, I might add that my husband is a former electrician and a mechanical engineer, A home owner who is familiar with their electrical circuit box should be able to locate a common circuit where the two boxes could be plugged in. If your circuits aren't labeled, you might try plugging in a radio turned up rather loud and turning the circuit breakers off and on until you locate the circuit for the electrical outlets you want to use.

I use this intercom in a remote garage about 600ft away. I have a Mighty Mule wireless electromagnetic vehicle alarm with the receiver near the intercom, with the lock on so I can hear the alarm in the house. The intercom has a slight buzz but for the money I've got in 2 items its a deal. When I bought the 413 intercom it sold with 3 units. I think you need more than 2.

I recently moved into my elderly mother's home to help care for her and got these so she could call me if she needed help while in bed (I am on a different floor at night). Plugged them in and they work great. Very clear.

We chose this rating because it is a handy item to own. I can let my husband know when lunch is ready without going out to his shop.
We gave it a four instead of a five because one of the channels is fuzzy sounding.

Plug and play, self explanatory, audio quality poor. Could be the crappy old wiring in my house though, but I doubt it, since its not interference just muffled.

We have a ranch home and my woodworking shop is in the basement. This intercom allows my wife and I to communicate. the alert is loud and I can hear it over music and all but the loudest power tools. Occasionally we may have to repeat a sentence but overall it is a very good value for the money.
