Wonderful,

This has to be one of the best jazz guitar albums ever recorded. It doesn't burn, but it's oh so mellow and sophisticated. Rich melodies and harmonies, wonderful subtle rhythms, wonderful relaxed vibe; wonderful, wonderful, wonderful... If you get just one Joe Pass album, this is the one to get.

I've been a professional guitarist for the past 32 years and am a collector of jazz guitar albums. This album is one of the top 5 guitar trio albums that I've ever heard.

A real "must have",

This is an album that sweats joy and art contemporarily. The level of virtuosity Joe Pass shows on all of the tracks is simply ignored by your ears that will be delighted by the melody and extreme good taste shown. This is a lesson for every guitarist yet a beautiful piece of contemporary music. There is a way of proposing phrases within chords that will completely fill the space without having any need for piano or other comping instrument around. Two words (literally) for the bass and drum that perfectly complement the trio: CLASS and ELEGANCE. Anyone that wants the PERFECT album, despite the instruments played, that wants something you can study as a deep lesson or listening to, or while shaving, or with a girl, please buy this MASTERPIECE.

Maybe my favorite Joe Pass trio album,

I am a jazz guitarist and avid jazz guitar record collector. When I was buying albums by Joe Pass, this was probably my top favorite by him. Why, pray tell? It's because his tone was a lot juicier, and sweeter than all the Pablo stuff, and his playing was extraordinary. Joe got a great amplified sound, and perhaps the "virtuoso" label that was placed on him by Pablo led them to record him my dryly. Whatever, after "Virtuoso", which stands in a fairly singular, reverent place within jazz guitar (for it's influence and groundbreaking format), "Intercontinental" rules. It may be the best introductory album for people new to Joe Pass and his recordings. This is a very high caliber jazz guitar album, and a very smooth, enjoyable listening experience.

Joe Pass Intercontinental,

This is one of the best jazz guitar records ever made. Joe Pass and his trio play at a consistently high musical level on all of the tunes and their performance was captured with a pristine quality by the European recording studio where it was made. Joe Pass is one of the few zen masters of the instrument and this recording is an essential addition to the collections of both players and listeners of jazz guitar.

The Joe Pass that I was used to seeing live in Boston back in the 70's. As a guitar player, I learned a lot from this album. Joe played all the tunes very melodically and did not over play as he was capable of doing. A must for every Joe Pass fan. May God be with Daddy Pass (and Jimmy D'Aquisto too.
