This review is from: Intercultural Sourcebook, Vol 1: Cross-Cultural Training Methods (Paperback)
I need to go to the Middle East in 30 days. I need to conduct a intercultural activity. I saw the word 'sourcebook' and thought this could help me. I need activities. This book is theoritical. It talks about why intercultural training is important, it's history. It talks about activities / simulations to run but assumes you already know them. e.g. Baranga, BaFa, etc. It tells you how to run these activities but doesn't tell you the activity. But this isn't useful as I'm sure the activity vendors will include this with their product. As a result, I don't see much value for this book. It's duplication.
This book is appropriate for academia folks, but for guys who have to run an activity quick and debrief it, it's not useful. I'll finish reading the book when I retire. Right now I need to find some activities quick. |
