Interfaith Just Peacemaking is a collected work by 27 Jewish, Muslim, and Christian scholars and religious leaders on the ten "practice norms" of the peacemaking paradigm called "Just Peace." Just Peace theory, like the paradigm it most resembles, Just War theory, is a list of specific practices that are applied to concrete contexts. In Interfaith Just Peacemaking, a wholly new work, each "practice norm" is a separate chapter with a general introduction and then commentary by one Christian, Jewish, and Muslim contributor and a short conclusion. It is intended both as a general introduction to Jewish, Christian and Muslim views on just peacemaking, and as a textbook for interfaith and peace studies courses.

About the Author

Susan Brooks Thistlethwaite is a Professor of Theology and former President of Chicago Theological Seminary. An ordained minister of the United Church of Christ for over 30 years, she has authored and edited numerous works including Dreaming of Eden: American Religion and Politics in a Wired World, Sex, Race and God: Christian Feminism in Black and White, Lift Every Voice: Constructing Christian Theologies from the Underside (co-editor) and Interfaith Just Peacemaking: Alternatives to War (co-editor). Dr. Thistlethwaite also writes a weekly column for TheWashington Post "On Faith" online section and is a frequent media commentator on religion and public events. She is a Fellow of the Center for American Progress Faith and Progressive Policy Initiative, and serves as a trustee of Faith in Public Life, and the Interfaith Youth Core.
