I NEVER write reviews but after purchasing this, I decided to since WE LOVE IT!

I really wanted a video monitor when my first son was born two years ago but could find nothing solid out there. After reading review after review, I opted not to get a video monitor and bought a digital audio-only monitor instead. It broke right before our second son was born so I researched digital video monitors again in hopes that I would find something worth spending the money on this time around. I found this monitor and kept coming back to it after reading reviews on EVERY video monitor out there. This one looked like it was worth taking a chance on as the reviews appeared stronger than the rest by far. My husband easily hooked it up and it worked great in just a matter of minutes! After two months of constant use, it still works well. I love the fact that we can add additional cameras to the monitor as our family expands. It's also digital which is a necessity in my opinion. I have also noticed that the battery life is very good, especially for it being a video monitor.

The only issue my husband and I have with this monitor is that every now and then, the screen will go blank due to interference. This isn't really a problem because it comes back after about a second and the audio never goes off, even if the screen does. We've found that when we lose the screen momentarily, we simply just need to place the portable monitor in a different spot, usually a few inches or feet away.

From the very beginning, we loved this monitor but wanted to wait awhile to see if we still loved it before writing a review. We can still say we love it and every time I have a feeling that I need to see if our baby is doing okay, I simply look at the screen. This monitor gives me the peace of mind that our son is safe and sound without having to check on him.

We still LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this monitor and really wish we had it when our 1st son was born. I'm so glad that we purchased it!

Its clear in total darkness at 12 feet away. Its all about where you place the cameras. The audio was good. The scan mode that alerts and turns on the screen at night on loud noises was exactly what i needed. The fact that i can disconnect and use the cameras with batteries was helpful to when my kid is napping in a different room. This is the best you can get without installing a expensive security camera system.

Great monitor, and excellent customer service! I received a defective monitor (only worked when plugged in even w/ charged battery) a few months before the baby was born and had not tried it out until I needed to use it. I was afraid that I would be stuck with it since I had had it for so long. I contacted the seller via email and received a reply almost immediately, followed up by a phone call that same afternoon. They were so nice, and sent me a replacement set right away. This is a small family business that truly cares about their customers. Although my cameras were not defective, they sent me a complete new set instead of just the monitor so that they could sync them together for me. They do this with all of the sets before they send them out so all you have to do when you get it is plug it in. We love this monitoring system. we have one camera installed above the baby's crib, and the other I just move around to wherever she is sleeping. When installing your camera, if the angle doesn't work for you, the L-bracket on the back of the camera can be removed and flipped over if needed. This worked perfectly for installing over a wooden cornice as opposed to on a flat wall. If you do not plan to have a light on in the room while the baby sleeps at night, you cannot install the camera too far away from the baby. The camera has an internal light, but when I attempted to install near the ceiling, the camera only worked during the day or if the light was on in the room. Installing it closer to the baby solved the problem. I am sure this is the case with all video baby monitors. My husband works in the technology industry so we have every kind of wireless electronic gadget you can think of, and we have not had any problems with interference that you get with all other monitors out there. I highly recommend this product and seller.

The net: There have been many times when the monitor has let me determine if the disturbance is a passing thing or something that needs attention. Have probably made only 1/3 the trips to baby as I would have without the excellent night vision. Even as I type this I have the monitor in line of sight and it gives me the freedom to be here typing this. Would definitely buy again.

Great product with some minor areas for improvement. Picture quality is very good, letting me see if the eyes are open, etc even when using the excellent night vision. Camera zoom lets me adjust to where the baby is positioned. Manual is clearly written and easy to understand. It is clear that we can add more than our 2 cameras if ever needed. Seems well made all around. Came pre-configured and worked out of the box. Was pleasantly surprised that even the cameras have a battery backup, and when power went out one night there was comfort knowing that our monitoring still worked. No interference issues observed.

Sound activation is not sensitive enough for small hiccups but will activate with a larger fuss or with a cry. Product will not allow the sound to be continuously monitored without also having the display continuously on, so we bought a cheap prior generation sound only monitor as a compliment. Multiple-camera scanning works but there is no easy way to take a camera out of the scan cycle such as when you know there is no baby in that room. When the up/down buttons control volume you have to navigate to sub-menus to switch cameras.

This is a really good monitor. The picture quality is great. And so is the infrared night picture. I love the sound activation feature. I have it set to the highest setting and it is very sensitive. Reception is also really good. We do not have a small home, and also have a basement, it picks up great all over the house. The monitor also has good reception in our garden outside, which is about 50 yards from the house. We do not live close to anyone, so I cannot comment on the interference of other things. I like the fact that both the monitor and camera can be disconnected from the outlet and can run off a battery. Ive not needed to use the battery option for an extended period yet. Overall I am very satisfied with the whole system and would recommend it to anyone. We also purchased an additional camera for use with future children. We have not used the two together yet. When we do, I'll write an update.

Update April 2010:

As I said before I would update when we tried out the other camera. Both cameras were registered from the company as stated, but I was unable to get the second camera to pick up a signal. I called customer service (Tammy) and she worked with me several times to try and fix the problem, but we could not get a signal. They even sent me a new camera to try and solve the issue. No luck. The problem might have been with the monitor itself, I don't know. Our final decision was to send the whole system back and let them re-register the cameras and send it back to me. Our problem solved. When I received the system everything worked perfectly and still does! I love this monitor and the customer service I received!! Thanks so much for working so patiently with me!!

This is a very good product and a great company.

Excellent picture quality with NO interference from neighbor's monitors. Works great in our 2 kid's rooms. The battery life seems to be shorter than I expected, but we keep in plugged in so not a big deal. Highly recommend this product! The only thing I would change is to have an option to buy 2 monitors to have one upstairs and one downstairs.

We have an 18 month old and currently use the Summer Night and Day monitor and love it! I am expecting in November so we were on the look out for a good multi camera system. AFter reading reviews this was the second one we decided to try and after the first night I knew that this was probably not the system we were going to stick with. The menu system is a little clunky and when the monitor is on the auto-scan mode between cameras it takes it a good 5-6 seconds at times to have the camera adjust and give you a viewable picture. The camera's actually have red lights that light up each time it scans to that camera when you are in night vision mode. It didn't bother my daughter but I could see where it could bother a small child. The thing that put me off the most was that both times we tried to use the monitor after a full charge it died within 2 hours. my daughter naps longer than that so we knew right then that this was not the system for us. We also only live in a 2700 Sq ft house and had a few moments of signal problems here and there. We ended up with the Summer Infant Sleek and Secure Multiview and am loving it! After using the new summer system it frustrated me that the 2 systems we tried before it had such horrible menu systems and lack of buttons on the monitor itself. I don't want to go into a menu to make it stop scanning or shut the screen off. This system also does not have continuous audio like we had gotten used to in the summer systems.

Update: This great video monitoring system is still performing as superbly today as it did out of the box five months ago. I continue to be amazed at how spectacular the night vision video is in a totally dark room. While we do not use the monitor outside the home, except on the patio, I tested the audio and video signal outside the house when we first used it, and I never lost video or audio. Still no interference with in-home WiFi. Yes, it would be nice if the battery lasted longer between charges (5-6 hours), but it's not a problem to keep the monitor plugged in at night on the nightstand turned horizontal so you can check the video from time to time without difficulty. My son, daughter-in-law and I could not be without this system. It makes my Night Nanny duties with twins easier and more enjoyable. You will not be disappointed.

Original Review: I purchased this system for my son and daughter-in-law who were expecting twins. I didn't want to purchase two 1-camera video monitoring systems and have them deal with two different monitors. I researched and reviewed many products, but the Safe Baby Home Sentry system was the best system I could find at a reasonable price that included two cameras and one monitor.

I am extremely happy with this product and so are my son and daughter-in-law. This is a fantastic system. The night vision is great, and there is absolutely no interference with in-home WiFi computer or phone connectivity.

The video monitor picture is clear and so is the sound - no static or interference. The video monitor can be set to automatically switch camera views at 5, 10 or 15-second intervals. We learned that 5 seconds was too quick, and 15 seconds was too long; so we use the 10-second interval. Each camera has its own mic and can pick up the sounds of each Grandchild.

The twins are now two months old and sleeping in their own beds. I do Night Nanny duty twice a week, and I keep the video monitor by the bed and can see and hear how each Grandchild is doing at all times.

Highly recommend this system. It's a great value. My son and daughter-in-law wouldn't be without it.

UPDATE: What can I say, this company is incredible. Not only is the camera system great (see below) but the owners of the company are like none other. Recently, our monitor stopped showing video (audio still worked). We contacted Tammy and she asked us to send the monitor to her so they could run some tests on it. After a couple of days, we got a call saying they could not diagnose the problem and the company would be sending us a totally new monitor and camera system. Two days later we received it. What is amazing about this story is we have had our original monitor for over a year. Regardless, the company took the defective monitor back and replaced it no questions asked. You just don't see that anymore. I have and will continue to recommend this product and this company to anyone who will listen.

Great product. We had an analog system for our first child and upgraded to this system for the birth of our second child. We could not be happier. We have two cameras on the system now and both work great. We will likely add a third camera for the play room in the future. Digital is the way to go and Home Sentry got it right.

As I sit typing this review, I'm watching my father stirring in bed and , wait . . . no. He fell back asleep! Without this monitor, I would have been in that room checking on him. My father has advanced Alzheimer's and is in a dangerous place in that he is still strong enough to get out of bed or a chair to walk around by himself, but he is weak and his balance worsening, which means that he falls very easily. Because of that, he needs practically one on one care to ensure his safety. As the only caregiver he has, I was losing my mind just trying to use the bathroom without worrying about him getting up and falling. I received this unit in the mail two days ago and I can't begin to tell you how much calmer I am! Now I don't have to run in when I hear a noise on my old audio only monitor. I'm constantly glancing at the monitor and am finding true peace of mind in knowing exactly what Daddy is doing.

I have one camera in his bedroom and one in the living room where he spends much time. But I love the portability and the ability to put a camera in the sun porch, or on the back porch. There's still a lot of work involved with him, but I'm less stressed in general, so I feel that I have more energy to spend on Daddy and more patience with him, which benefits both of us. I thank God that we had the money to buy this.

All the components worked perfectly out of the box. The quality is great, both video and audio, and the infrared is AWESOME! I highly recommend this product to any elder caregiver.
