Interlink VP6270 Bluetooth Calculator Keypad

This product was recommended to me by the Apple Store when I purchased a new iMac with wireless keyboard. This Interlink keypad is not at all useful for entering numbers in a spreadsheet. I have three BIG complaints:
1. The keypad goes to sleep mode very quickly. One must frequently hit the "wake" button and wait a few seconds for the keypad to turn back on. This really slows you down, especially if you input without constantly looking at the keypad.
2. The keypad does not have left.right,up,down cursor movement keys. Other reviewers have mentioned this as a problem. Until I began to use the keypad, I did not realize how much this shortcoming affects productivity. It is not sufficient to move back to the keyboard to navigate a spreadsheet.
3. While the "mode" feature seems to be a good idea, it is actually inconvenient. One must manually switch between modes. Data entered in one mode remains on the screen and in memory when switching to the other mode unless manually deleted. It's very easy to begin your work in the wrong mode.

One minor complaint: The screen is difficult to read which, of course is only relevant if you use the keypad as a calculator.

I suggest that users who do a lot of work with data or speadsheets use the standard USB keyboard rather than this wireless keypad.

When I purchased my macbook in December (08), the first thing I missed was the 10 key portion. I thought.....Wouldn't it be nice if there was something out that that I could hook up to my macbook....Went looking and to my pleasant surprise there are many! I purchased this one based on the good reviews.....honestly, the main thing is I wanted a white one to match my macbook.....the bonus is it's wireless. So far so good...works very well and the wireless part makes it so convenient on my cluttered desk. It's a little more in price than I wanted to spend but I hate buyer's remorse and I don't have it!

This is a cool device. Many similar devices use a proprietary wireless method, requiring the use of a USB dongle on the PC. Since my laptop has built-in Bluetooth, that would be silly. I would use a corded version instead. The free-standing calculator mode is a nice touch. Mostly, I'll enjoy the ability to pre-calculate an entry that is going into a cell in a spreadsheet.
Installed easily and works great!

I wanted a notebook keypad that works with the built-in bluretooth of my Dell. This worked right out of the box no problem. If I had one issue it is it goes to sleep too soon. It has a wake key so that is easy but I would like it to stay on longer. May have to see if I can correct it in the software. Other than that it is exactly as advertized. Works great as a stand alone calculator also. Now if they only made it in black.

Excellent product. You can type very fast and all the numbers get trasmited to the computer. Highly recommended.

Works as advertised, nice to have a numpad. Possible issues:
-goes to sleep too quickly
-does not seem to be a true numpad for Win, can't generate alt characters with it
Personal gripe: it's white.

You must use good batteries for this unit. It is easy to use but it consumes batteries up. I had problems with the bluetooth in Windows XP but it works easily in Windows Vista.

The attempt to combine a keypad with a calculator didn't work out well. The "mode" indicator is in tiny! print at the upper margin of the screen and is hard to see. Also, when you shift to the keypad mode, there is what feels like a lengthy delay before you can start entering digits. (A faint image shows up on the bottom of the computer screen to tell you it's linked.) In calculator mode it takes a while to get used to the labels and placement of the function keys. Two features that I liked were the "sleep" mode, which kicks in after 4 minutes to save the batteries, and the 00 key for entering whole dollar amounts.

Bluetooth pairing, in general, can be difficult. Pairing this device with my mac wasn't any more difficult than pairing any other device.

It has been very useful and has functioned well.

I can see how if you are not using this keypad adjacent to a keyboard that has arrow keys, the lack of arrow keys could be a problem as some other reviewers have mentioned. However, in my experience, number pads don't normally haved arrow keys, and I DO use it adjacent to a keyboard with arrow keys, so I don't have a problem.

I ored it and when it came i opend it and tryed to pair it with my macbook and the keys would not function.
